I disagree. Unless you have a very complicated return, Turbo Tax is the way to go. The program will walk you through the return. No need to pay a tax preparer.

I'd rather pay someone $30 then do my own taxes.
I suppose my opinions could also be what they are because my parents do have more complex returns due to owning 4 houses, a farm, and multiple investments.
My sisters and I have followed in just handing out stuff to a professional so we don't have to be concerned aobut it.

Wow, I don't know of any place that completes returns so inexpensively. Years ago and before Turbo Tax, we did have more complicated returns and we paid around $300.

Wow, I don't know of any place that completes returns so inexpensively. Years ago and before Turbo Tax, we did have more complicated returns and we paid around $300.

Yep $30 for the straight forward things.
I believe my parents end up paying $75.
Its a local small family business.

For $30 I'd have someone do it too, that's cheaper than the deluxe version of Turbo Tax I use.

I probably wouldn't. That price is so low and below the norm that I wouldn't trust it. I'd be afraid that I'd get exactly what I paid for.

@Queen of the WDW Scene please don't be offended. I get that this is a business that your family has used for years and you have a level of small town trust that I wouldn't have.
