Can someone tell me what the Poly CL food is like? what are some examples of breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner offerings. Trying to decide if need to upgrade to CL from a standard room. We are a party of 8 with 2 rooms already booked. Wondering if this will help cut down on our overall food costs or just stay with what we have Thanks

There are photos of the CL lounge and the food on page one of the Poly thread here:

There is also lots of info on the concierge/CL thread (along with photos, which I think are really helpful).

Here's what I remember from our last time in Poly CL:

Breakfast -- cereals, breads, yogurt, fruit
Lunch -- they don't offer anything for lunch
Snack -- goldfish, gummy sharks, sometimes tortilla chips and cookies. Really nothing special.
Dinner -- there were different themes each night -- one night we had sushi, one night there was skewered chicken -- one night egg rolls. There are usually a couple of hot items, plus veggies, dips, uncrustables, and cheese and crackers. I think that tikiman has a list of what is available at night (or at least he did back when I was planning).
Dessert -- little tiny treats and cookies

It's definitely enough for breakfast (for my family), then we have a large lunch. Sometimes after the dinner appetizers we were too full to have dinner, but other times we weren't. Hope this helps.

One of the things to note is many things at Disney tend to have reputations and hype that live beyond the circumstance, service and offering that validate the reputation. Disney continues to changes to control overall cost. They take advantage of customer loyality and new guests who have no past reference. We have stayed Club level over the past decade. Club service has declined and on-line ADR system really replaces the IPO who make errors more frequently than in the past.

I will tell you, club level offerings have changed significantly and you cannot use the appetizers in the evening as a substitute for dinner...unless you eat like a bird. There will be one hot item such as a chicken or beef skewer, cheese, hummus, veggies, etc. It is light finger food. It is not the substantial spreads of several years ago that many people still reference on these boards as they exist today. Mainstream of food is now common and unique club items are now only offered in the resorts TS restaurant.

I totally agree. In the past we rarely had room for much dinner, now it's more hit-and-miss (also depending on when and what we had for lunch). The food has definitely changed in the last 10 years...

We stayed a week at the Poly CL and found that over the course of that stay the breakfast foods were recycled meaning the pastries were a bit stale and the fruit was getting riper by the day.

By day three we were so sick of bagels and croissants, mini muffins and oatmeal that we went to Capt Cooks for some eggs.

The snacks were ok, just Goldfish crackers, gummy sharks, popcorn, pretzels and more fruit.

Cocktail time was nice, lots of choices but they ran out fast. Loved the potstickers and meatballs, the Kona salad was great too. One day there were little appies left over from a meeting or something, they were the best, little canapes with meats and cheeses and veggies.

Nighttime desserts were just horrible. Same brownies, cupcakes, cookies and tarts every single night and they were just blech.

Poly CL is our favorite. While the am offerings are standard at most of the lounges, we never found anything "stale" or "recycled". Just having snacks and sodas available makes it worth it for us. The lounge is large and has a great view.

Thanks everyone for all the good info! Now to make that decision, probably going to go for club level! Gotta try it.

We're like you and decided to try it. In our case, the breakfast offerings are exactly what our kids would want anyway. They are always hungry so it will be nice to be able to get snacks throughout the day, whenever we're at the resort. Have you checked out drink prices for soda/tea/lemonade/water? We'll save at least $20 a day, and that's if we only get 2 each...we'll be drinking more than that, I'm sure. It's not the savings that I might see that convinced me to go for it, it was the fact that stuff is always available.

One thing I should note. I'm not too sure about the IPO at this point because 3 of my ADRs were not made yesterday, 2 of which are on our first day. When I asked about it, the response was that they weren't available to book yet. It's Sci-Fi and Raglan Rd, not something uber popular like Le Cellier. I'm assuming V&A's isn't 180+10 and that's why it wasn't booked? I did get 'Ohana and Akershus at my preferred times later that week.:confused3 Not sure what's going on there!
Aside from that little bit of weirdness, they made arrangements for two other things without a hiccup.

We stayed Cl back in Jan. We loved the room and everything about the Poly...However.... I would not pay The CL price JUST for the food. Yes it was nice to grab a snack or a can of soda, but i can eat a lot of tonga taost at CC for the cost of the Cl room, and buy a few snacks in the park in the evening.
I think they do a great job with the offerings they have, but i dont think the food offerings offset the cost.
