CL access when switching to another resort?

So, we aren't able to get our last night at CL in the GF, so I decided to just go to the ASSp to sleep at the end of the day.
WE still have access to CL until midnight, right? What about after we check into ASSp, however? Will that stop our CL Magic Bands from working at the GF?

How does it all work? This is a first for us. Thanks!!!

Oh, and will they extend our stay and cancel the ASSp, if available, after arrival? I plan to keep on checking right up until check out day, but don't want to pay for 2 rooms.

Hey there @Babsy. With your depth of experience it’s usually YOU answering the questions around here!! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Yes, as a CL guest you have access to all CL amenities (eg, the lounge, food/beverage offerings) until midnight on your check out day. Your MBs ‘should’ work even after checking into the second resort. However I have seen people report both them working and not working after that point... so YMMV. May just want to check with the CL CM before you leave to double-check.

Not sure about the second part of your question. I guess the answer would technically be no, if you are within the 5 day cancellation period on your ASSp room (I’m assuming it’s a room only reservation). Although I’d hope they’d work with you in such a situation, if availability opens up. ??? Haven’t been in that situation before so not totally sure.

You doing RPC or SL this trip? :-)

Have fun!

Hey there, GADisneyDad14! :wave2:

LOL! Yes, this is something that I have read about, but not experienced. Like you, I have read of it going both ways. I suspect that checking into another resort may be a problem for magic bands continuing to work on the 'completed' reservation. However, we will be in the MK area all that last day and into the evening, so we would like access to the lounge, if possible. Things change at WDW all the time, so I was just wondering about recent experiences.

I am contemplating waiting to check into ASSp at the end of the day. As long as we haven't checked into ASSp, I am hoping that there won't be a problem. If we give the luggage to Bell Services to transfer, we would then just head over to ASSp after the MNSSHP to crash for the night. We are leaving first thing the next morning, so ASSp really is just a bed to sleep in until we head to the airport around 8:00 am.

OTOH, I also think that it is nice to have the room settled before midnight when heading out early in the am. **sigh**
I obsess over details way too much!! LOL

We are staying SL as RPC isn't showing availability for our dates. That is fine, IMO, as this is a whirlwind 4 day visit that will be quite park intensive. We won't use the CL 'lounge' for much more than breakfast or a quick pit stop on occasion. Of course, if RPC would be kind enough to open up with availability, I might just need to switch rooms again, anyway. LOVE RPC!

Thank you for your insight!

Well, maybe something will open up in your favor. I’m trying to nail down a trip next month too and SL keeps showing up as available. Although there’s hardly ANYTHING anywhere else in WDW showing up for my dates. It’s crazy! :-)

So you’re not physically going to ASSp until after MNSSHP?

Even if something does shut off with your GF access, hopefully a CM could fix it quickly (although I know that’d be a pain to deal with).

Happy planning!

It is crazy!! I am happy to have been able to get a GF SL room - especially with a discount, such as it is. Are you thinking of staying SL or are you holding out for RPC? You know, if SL keeps showing up, maybe it's fate. :teeth:

Probably not physically going to ASSp until after MNSSHP, but I wouldn't say that I'm 100% sure. We might want to get our stuff settled in the room so that we can just hop into bed after the party. Also, toying with costumes - it would be easier with room access. It isn't how I want to spend time on our last day of a short 4 day trip, though.

Good luck getting your trip sorted for next month.

Enjoy!

Yeah, if I were in your shoes I’d much rather be coming home to GF at 12AM+ than jumping on the bus to somewhere else. :-)

No GF for me, although for my dates SL at the AP rate has kind of been tempting. Currently booked Poly CL. I see availability for my dates come/go for some of the deluxes but haven’t seen RPC at all. That sort of shocks me given the cost, but I guess the demand is there!
