CKC schedule is up

Wow - you're right! It is two weeks earlier. And now conflicts with another annual (pinball) event we usually do! Argghhhhh! This probably also messes up the hotel ressies I made at last year's CKC for 2010 - - I'll have to call today and find out.

Thanks for the heads-up, LindaBabe!

Yep - had to change the ressies! But did still get last year's CKC rate of $123 for a double room for the new 2010 dates.

Whew- wonder how many other folks will get caught by this change? I might toss a note on the MA/southern NH thread to alert everyone...

Hmm, I may be able to go! It's usually the same weekend as PrincessM's recital, but I think that's in June this year ;)

So what can I expect at the conference? I am assuming classes and a big expo hall. What is the cost?

Here's one of the DIS threads from last year about it. Costs vary, depending upon whether you just want the vendor floor or to also add classes (each class costs $ and the prices differ widely). Also, whether or not you stay overnight (then again whether you're at the conference hotel or another one in the area...) Then, whether or not you crop - fees for that, too.

So, it's not easy to answer your question about the price! You can do a little or a lot! And pay accordingly...;)

We (the Boston Scrap Mafia) went last year for the first time and enjoyed ourselves. So, we're going back! Here's the link for the 2010 shows across the country.

Thanks for the links. I have family living in one of the host cities so I can cut out hotel expense. :woohoo:

Thanks for the heads up, Linda. Marking my calendar. I know my Peeps are looking to do this again. :thumbsup2

You could always come down on Thursday and crop in your room!

Jennifer I've thought about that and with the date chnge I lost the excuse of it's my birthday and I wanna so that's why, so now I'm trying to figure out what to do. I'm spoiled with taking my camper places and the thought of spending extra nights in a hotel room kind of creeps me out now. And I'm not the germaphobe that's moms job. I'm wondering if others who made reservations made them with thurs night included? Since it will still be my bday present from mom she's leaving it up to me, told me to schedule what I want including classes.:rolleyes1 ummmmmm wondering what I'll pick.....

I would still think the Thursday night crop is a strong possibility. They always list the dates in the promotional materials as just Friday and Saturday, even though there have also been Thursday night activities. I would make the hotel reservation now to include Thursday if you're thinking about it - you can always change it later.

They added a convention in Des Moines!!! I've never been to one before and this sounds awesome!!!! If you have any tips that would be great

go with a set amount of money and leave the cc's at home! have someone to catch you at the door when you faint. seriously though they are HUGE and overwhelming. Take your time and wander before you start to by. Think long and hard on some of the stuff while it's great are you really going to use it? i'm still ?ing where my brain ran off to on a few of the things i bought.
HAVE FUN and go with another person.
