My kids loved Margaritaville and Bubba Gumps. We also liked Bob Marleys. My favorite was Mythos in IOA - though it's not in Citywalk it was fantastic!

Anyone know what # to call for the Citywalk restaurants to make reservations. Do you have to call the restaurants directly? Also, how far in advance should I make ressies? Thanks!

We ate at Pat O'Brien's and at Margaritaville and both were fine. I didn't think either was spectacular or amazingly outstanding, but they were good for what they were. The beignets we had for dessert at POB's were outstanding!

I think next time I visit with my DH, I'd want to go to Emeril's and Mythos. DH was completely new to Universal, and I hadn't been in many years, and we just kind of poked around. We had loads of fun, but next time, since he is no longer a USO virgin, we can better tailor our plans.

Usually, the only restaurants that need more than a one day reservation are the two Emeril Restaurants: Emeril's in Citywalk and Emeril's Tchoup Chop at the RPR. Both restaurants are in the opentable.com website and advanced reservations can be made at that website. I advise that if you're eating at one of these two restaurants, to make a reservation as soon as possible at that website to guarantee the date and time you want.

As for the rest of the Citywalk restaurants, the majority of people are walk-ups. For planning a dinner at one of these two restaurants, there are two options.

The first option is for people staying on-property at Universal. They can show their room key when they walk-up to the restaurant and will usually receive priority seating, no advance notification required. This isn't available at the Emeril restaurants. Bubba Gumps also hasn't participated in the on-property priority seating.

The second option is to stop by the Citywalk's Dinner and Entertainment booth when you arrive in the morning, prior to entering one of the parks, and make your dinner reservation then.

Happy to report an over-all good dining experience at CityWalk. We did Bob Marley (yummy fish), Margaritaville (margaritas so good the food was almost an afterthought but good nonetheless), Bubba Gumps (delish but wait was long and the portions were outrageously large), Latin Quarter (best service and meal - try the veggie paella and churrasco skirt steak - but make sure you do not fill up on the rolls so that you can enjoy your entire meal - huge portions also).

In the parks we ate at Lombards (OK) and Mythos (fantastic risotto and shrimp tempura). The counter service places (pizza place in US and Comic Strip Cafe) were bleh.

LOVED Emack and Bolios at HRH and enjoyed dining at The Kitchen, too. Mostly because they had a great kids area and kept our kids occupied while we dined!

Ohhh, you've got to try the flourless chocolate cake at Mythos....oh, yummm

Another vote for Margaritaville! It just feels like vacation!

My DH and I ate at Emerils once, on a trip w/o kids. It was very good.
