City, Sand, and Savanna - Link to new trip report

While I appreciate the "update," let's move on the TR already! Before we hit the two-year mark.

It seems like every time your family hits the beach, it's cloudy. Remind me never to take a beach vacation with youse guys.

(And yes, you all look very nice all dressed up. Beats the park attire for a change.)

Double post. I swear this was a techical problem and NOT a plea for attention. *

Glenn, glad y'all had such a great time in MV. :)

I hope you got lots more family pictures of you all gussied up like that. Everyone looked so amazing together. ::yes:: :thumbsup2

Definitely a nice family picture! :thumbsup2

And who knew Glenn could all cleaned up and dress up like that? :confused3

I know I've awol for a while, but I used the links to get caught up. I'm sure I missed lots of witty chatter but at least I know where we are on the trip.

Lovely pictures on the beach and dressed for the wedding. You do all clean up right nice.:flower3:

Looking forward to more.

I am joining totally late, but really enjoying your trip report! I have to go back and read your others.

Your family is just adorable- how awesome that your parents have been married 60 (61?) years!!

Love the Boma report- we ate there last Aug and will be taking my in-laws there in November. I can't wait to have another zebra dome!! Fantastic food.

Looking forward to reading more- in preparation for my trip in a little over 3 weeks! :cool1:

Hi Glenn! What a great occasion to travel to the Vineyard! Those were some lovely family photos!! :) Whenever I hear of Martha's Vineyard I think of the author Phillip R Craig who wrote the Martha's Vineyard Mystery series. I would love to visit there someday.

Wicked pissah pictures!!! (That's good)

You are making me feel right at home with all this "Bawstin" Talk.

R's ah fah losahs!

;)

Looks like you had an awesome weekend! I agree- that's a Christmas card picture right there!

Going back to check out the updates I missed.

It was now about 11:30am, and we had 3 separate parties converging on Epcot's World Showcase. As you learned in the previous chapter, Marlene and I were arriving from DHS by way of Friendship Boat and a little walk through the Boardwalk; Lauren and James were coming by bus from Animal Kingdom, and Judy, Gram, and Poppy were coming by bus from Kidani.

Lauren and James noticed a Photopass photographer on their way into Epcot and they stopped for a few pictures. Have I got them trained or what? I love that they took the initiative, and they were really excited to tell me that they had done it. They couldn't wait to see what they looked like, because they were psyched with the poses that the photographer put them in.

Photo0086FourBySix.jpg

Photo0088FourBySix.jpg

If I remember correctly, Marlene and I were the last to arrive, and we met everyone else near the Rose & Crown, at the same spot where we had watched Illuminations a couple of nights before.

Of course, we had to have a little fun at the UK phone booths, but I just called the kids...we didn't get any passers-by to pick up, although the kids wanted to show that little trick to Gram and Poppy.

IMG_6637.jpg

One thing in the World Showcase that I had never done, that my little Francophile (that's a lover of all things French) Marlene wanted to do, was to catch the movie in the France pavilion, so we headed that way.

I still felt like we hadn't taken enough photos to justify the prepaid CD I'd bought, so we paused for a Photopass picture at the fountains in France.

IMG_6638.jpg

Photo0092FourBySix.jpg

Oops, James is battling the sunglare.

Photo0097FourBySix.jpg

Photo0100FourBySix.jpg

Once we went into the pavilion we discovered that we had just missed the start of the movie, naturally, so we had to wait for a while. James was eager to do an Agent P mission, so I thought I'd take advantage of our downtime and go get him signed up. I had seen the recruiting station when I came in, near the International Gateway. So, he and I went back over the bridge.

IMG_6639.jpg

IMG_6640.jpg

IMG_6641.jpg

When we signed him up we learned that he only had 15 minutes to start his mission, which is a little too restrictive, in my opinion. And we had a conundrum because the movie was about to start. He was okay with it though, because he really had no interest in seeing the wonders of France cinematographically. (My wording, not his. In case you were wondering.) When we got back to the others, Judy offered to take him on his Agent P mission because she was worried that the movie might be one of those big-screen motion-sickness-inducing productions anyway. So all was well.

Oh wait, I got ahead of myself a little bit. I took a couple of pictures of the French pavilion on my way back. I can't leave them out.

IMG_6642.jpg

IMG_6643.jpg

So now we'll follow James on his Agent P mission in Japan and take a look at the pictures that Judy took. Meanwhile, while you're doing that, imagine the rest of us in the theater in France, watching the movie. Mostly awake.

With pictures like this, I don't even need to post a "spoiler alert"!

2012-06-28122028.jpg

Apparently smoke was involved. I have a feeling that mirrors are coming up soon.

2012-06-28122330.jpg

2012-06-28122336.jpg

Okay, now I need to issue a Spoiler Alert.

2012-06-28122346.jpg

2012-06-28122410.jpg

The koi pond. I don't think it was part of the mission, but was just too photogenic to pass up.

2012-06-28122515.jpg

They still had some time left , so decided to do another mission and were assigned Germany. Apparently a show was going on in Italy as they went by.

2012-06-28123949.jpg

Here's another one where Judy saved me from having to post a spoiler alert. I think she was too slow to capture what the mission revealed.

2012-06-28124631.jpg

I think this one was used back when they were Kim Possible missions.

2012-06-28124756.jpg

I don't think anything happened at the model train during their mission, they just paused for a picture. I'd like to visit that farmer's market -- too bad it's just a model.

Run, Dr. Doofenshmirtz, run!

Meanwhile, back at the Hall of Justice, er I mean the France pavilion, the rest of us finished watching the movie. It was nice. Which is a nice way of saying that I don't remember much of it. The only note I wrote down was that the fashions looked dated. But hey, it was fine, and another never done was now done.

The next thing on the agenda was lunch at the Biergarten. I sent Gram and Poppy in that direction, since it was going to take them a little while to get there. Marlene and I were going to pause for something else, pictures in a moment. And Lauren wanted to get in line for photopass pictures with her favorite princess, Aurora, aka Sleeping Beauty.

Photo0101FourBySix.jpg

Yoo hoo Aurora, over here!

Photo0103FourBySix.jpg

That's better.

Photo0106FourBySix.jpg

I shouldn't keep cropping her hand out of the pictures. That's her signature move.

Photo0110FourBySix.jpg

Photo0112FourBySix.jpg

While she was in line for those pictures, Marlene and I were watching Serveur Amusant! I tried to catch this show on a couple of different days during our last trip, but never saw them. This time, when we came out from the movie, they had just started. So I had to watch for a while.

IMG_6644.jpg

It didn't look so tough at this point. I could do that.

IMG_6645.jpg

Okay, with the handstand thrown in, I'm out.

IMG_6646.jpg

IMG_6647.jpg

No, he's not going to go higher, is he?

IMG_6648.jpg

Oh yes he is.

IMG_6649.jpg

Almost there.

IMG_6650.jpg

Ta da!

IMG_6651.jpg

Hmpf! If you think that balancing's good, you should see me with a checkbook and a bank statement. ;)

After finally catching the Serveur Amusant show, we started booking it toward Germany. I took a picture to give you a sense of the crowd-level. Not too bad.

IMG_6653.jpg

We had to stop for a couple of train pictures also.

IMG_6654.jpg

IMG_6656.jpg

Hey, I think I've seen that farmer's market before!

IMG_6657.jpg

Well, I can just feel that you're all on the edge of your seats, wondering what's going to happen next in this trip report, but you'll just have to wait for the next installment.

In what posts? You know, for the sticklers.

Sigh...

1st post: 4 Photopass shots in front of the France fountain. Then the 5th Judy is her finger blocking the view of the Agent P mission in Japan. Can't really tell if it's a thumb or forefinger, or one of the other digits. Also I can't really see her fingerprint, so getting a true ID might be tough. But I'm going with circumstantial evidence.

2nd post: 0 Judys.

Great update for the kids! James got Agent P x2, Marlene got her french movie (I love that one actually!) and Lauren got her Aurora picture.

Well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have always wondered just what the weird pointed hand signature more really means...by any princess. It LOOKS uncomfortable. Like it's meant to hold their skirt up while dancing but they forgot they dropped their skirt.

I've noticed , haven't seen you on mine in awhile ;):rotfl2:

Sorry. :flower3: I know I'm missing out on all of the hijinx.

About the same as a Snowball's chance in H*** :rotfl2:

Oh, you're even more optimistic than me! Remember that NYC dress shop that my daughter Lauren wanted to visit back in one of the early chapters of this report?! (About 10 or 11 months ago!) Yeah, her cousin, the bride at last weekend's wedding wore a dress from there. I'm sunk.

Do you really think I plan it ... me sweet innocent me :confused3;):rotfl2:

You're so good at being bad, you don't have to plan it.

While I appreciate the "update," let's move on the TR already! Before we hit the two-year mark.

You're gone for months without so much as posting a smiley and now you're in a big rush?!! ;)

It seems like every time your family hits the beach, it's cloudy. Remind me never to take a beach vacation with youse guys.

Really? It's possible to be sunny at the beach? I don't think that's true.

Actually, you have no idea how right you are. Back in the 90's we lived in Wilmington NC, (near the beach!) and it was ALWAYS sunny and beautiful. Except...the summer we were planning to move. I took a week of vacation to enjoy the beach before we left and it rained every day. It was uncanny.

(And yes, you all look very nice all dressed up. Beats the park attire for a change.)

I was obviously either heading to a wedding or to court. Or both.

Double post. I swear this was a techical problem and NOT a plea for attention. *

PEBCAK (Problem Exists Between Chair and Keyboard).

Glenn, glad y'all had such a great time in MV. :)

Thanks Camille. It was a nice place to visit; we've never been in that part of the country before.

I hope you got lots more family pictures of you all gussied up like that. Everyone looked so amazing together. ::yes:: :thumbsup2

No, most of the other pictures were of the wedding and reception. The only other one that we're all in is this classy one:

IMG_0942_zps6e869383.jpg

Definitely a nice family picture! :thumbsup2

Thanks dude!

And who knew Glenn could all cleaned up and dress up like that? :confused3

The Public Defender.

I know I've awol for a while, but I used the links to get caught up. I'm sure I missed lots of witty chatter but at least I know where we are on the trip.

Hey Vanessa! Good to see you, glad you're caught up. :wave2:

Lovely pictures on the beach and dressed for the wedding. You do all clean up right nice.:flower3:

Aw, thanks.

Looking forward to more.

You got it.

At least......

Hang in there. :)

But Pat we work for a living !!!:rotfl2:

Are you saying that some people don't? :stir:

I am joining totally late, but really enjoying your trip report! I have to go back and read your others.

Hiya beachmama3 and :welcome: You're not too late because it appears that I am going for the record of the most drawn-out trip report! Woo hoo! ;) We still have the rest of this Epcot day to finish (and we arent even to lunch yet), a day at Universal with a Polynesian Luau in the evening and then the wrap-up. So, plenty more to go.

Your family is just adorable- how awesome that your parents have been married 60 (61?) years!!

Aw thanks, I'm kinda partial to 'em. :teeth: Yep, the parents logged another year and celebrated 61 a couple of weeks ago.

Love the Boma report- we ate there last Aug and will be taking my in-laws there in November. I can't wait to have another zebra dome!! Fantastic food.

We love that place! Make sure you're hungry and ready to feast!

Looking forward to reading more- in preparation for my trip in a little over 3 weeks! :cool1:

Oh, that'll be great. Its not too hard to get psyched-up for a Disney trip, is it? Where're you staying?

Hi Glenn! What a great occasion to travel to the Vineyard! Those were some lovely family photos!! :) Whenever I hear of Martha's Vineyard I think of the author Phillip R Craig who wrote the Martha's Vineyard Mystery series. I would love to visit there someday.

Mysteries are always fun reads, but I must confess that I'm not familiar with that series. However...on our bus ride from Oak Bluffs to the wedding venue, the bus driver who was also a tour guide, couldn't help but tell us this story of a local author who had just wed. We drove past her and her new hubby's house.

Wicked pissah pictures!!! (That's good)

Great! And I'm sure glad you clarified that.

You are making me feel right at home with all this "Bawstin" Talk.

R's ah fah losahs!

;)

:rotfl: Hilarious! "Be quiet! I'm wahtchin' my iPaaad."

Looks like you had an awesome weekend! I agree- that's a Christmas card picture right there!

It was a nice time. Thanks!

Going back to check out the updates I missed.

I just gave you one more. ;)
