I was wondering...when I look up the socal city pass it says valid thru 4/1/2005-3/31/2006, do I have to wait until 3/31/2006 to but it or do you know if the dates will change.

TIA

That's a really good question. Where's Mary Jo when you need her. She know everything.

You have to use the first ticket in the book by 3/31/06. That's when the booklet expires for the year. Starting in April 1, 2006 the price will most likely increase so that's why the booklet expires then. Basically they are good for a year.

So I have to wait until April first to buy my city pass that would be valid for my vacation On April 14th???

That seems a little rediculous to me. If I buy through Costco How do I know that I will even recieve the pass before we leave?

As we arrive 1st April 06 I am also interested in this - will there be a point say early in 2006 when you can choose to buy a 2006 citipass valid for April?

Sue

I'm sure they will have the citypasses for next year available before april 1st to be purchased for your trip. You could check out the website www.citypass.com and maybe call them and they can give you a better estimate when they will be ready for purchase. I highly doubt they will wait until the 1st to sell those for 2006-2007.

In March the new passes go on sale on costco.com. It lists boths for trips prior to April 1 and for trips after April 1st. At least thats how it worked this year. We bought our tickets from Costco.com in early March for our May trip. This year the big cjange is that prior to 4/1/06 they include Knotts and after it will include Universal instead. Not sure how that will impact the price though. Costco will still be the best deal, I'm sure. hope this helps.

I emailed them today with questions about CityPass for the summer. Here's the email that I received in reply.

The 2006 Southern California pass price is $199 for adults and $159 for
youth ages 3-9. Please note that Knott's Berry Farm will be out of the
program and Universal Studios will be in. The booklets should be for sale on
our website by the 1st of January.

Hope it helps!

Is this from Costco, or from citypass? That's a pretty substantial increase if it's the costco one -- like $35. Still, Universal for Knotts is a pretty good trade in my opinion.
