Hello all! I'm going to be renting a double stroller for my 3 year old DD and my 6 year old DS. I'm trying to decide between the city mini and the citi mini GT. I rented the regular ct mini in the past and it worked great. But my DS is older now and is close to the top of the height/weight range of both strollers. I have noticed that most of the descriptions of the GT on the rental websites have the height/ weight limitations a little higher than the regular city mini. But it is also 4 pounds heavier, which isn't a super big deal. Just curious about everyone's thoughts and/or experiences with these two strollers. What's the big difference between the regular and GT and is it worth the slightly higher price? Thanks in advance

I have used the citi mini regular with the older ones many times. I don't think there is enough of a difference to say you should definitely go the GT route unless you have tall children that need a little extra head room ( I am assuming that the major difference is that it is slightly higher). The three year old will probably need to use the stroller the most, and the 6 year old probably only when tired or worn out. That is usually how it ends up happening with us. I have even had my then eight year old take a brief break in the city mini when tired, and it was perfectly fine.

We had a City Mini for about a year but recently upgraded to a City Mini GT.

We absolutely LOVE the GT! I think the wheels make it so much smoother and easier to move. The basket is bigger on the GT model we got. We love the adjustable handlebar.

But seriously, it's like I am pushing my baby on a cloud. Love that thing!! :)

It definitely is like pushing a cloud! That is the exact phrase my husband and I used when we got the GT.

Our last trip, we rented the standard double city mini. Our DD was 2, the twins were 6. The twins just took turns riding, and fit just fine in the city mini. Sure, if they sat straight up, their heads might have been close to the canopy, but when they were tired, they'd slouch back and want it slightly reclined anyways.

We've owned and rented both. We recently invested in a City Mini GT single for my daughter who I think is going to be in a stroller for a longer period of time than my son due to developmental delays. It has a 65lbs weight limit and a slightly taller canopy. I believe the GT Double has a similar weight limit per child.
