Citricos v Narcoossee's

We are planing on spending a night out watching wishes from the beach at the Poly and then walking over to the GF for a romantic dinner afterwards. With that being said which is the better choice for a romantic dinner, Citricos or Narcoossee's.

Been to Narcoosees (2009, and 2010), and Citricos (2009). I'd say either one. I think the food is a little better at Citricos and I'd say it's a little quieter and service is more formal than Narcoosees. But... Narcoosees is on the water (lagoon) and has a deck outside. I'd just go with whichever menu appeals to you better.

Either way, be sure to enjoy the GF lobby before/after dinner. There's a small orchestra and piano player that alternate there in the evenings. I found that very enjoyable... the floral arrangements there are nice too.

Romantic? How about a massage or something at the Spa?

we have done both and love both restaurants. More romantic go to Citricos.

I think the food & service is much, much better at Citrico's and there seem to be less families with small children there. Narcoossee's does have a better location, though.

I'd definitely choose Citricos over Narcoosees if you are looking for a chance at romantic and quiet. Our last few visits to Narcoosees have been very disappointing (noisy, mediocre food). Citricos has a limited menu but the food has always been good and we've been happy with the service. All but one meal has been fairly quiet.

If you are going to eat "after" the fireworks, Narcoossees should be quieter by then. Strangely, we do prefer Narcoosees over Citricos. I like the less "stuffy" atmosphere, being on the water with a view.....the lobster.....Citricos has consistently failed to "wow" us, and although perhaps more romantic in some ways, just doesn't appeal to me like Narcoosees does.

Hands down, go with Citricos! It has better food, better service, and is much less boisterous. It's fairly quiet and the ambiance is more romantic the Narcoossee's.

Citrico's is much the better restaurant--and in your case, you will have already seen the fireworks and the view won't matter.

I think I'm in the minority, but we have given Narcoosees two chances and we won't be back. The food is just not that great. I loooove the atmosphere and that's why we tried again, but next time we are looking for a nice meal at the GF, we are giving Citricos a try.

Although we liked Narcoosee's we would definitely choose Citricos. In our opinion the food is better and the atmosphere more conducive to a romantic setting. Narcoosee's has a lot of wood on the floor, walls, and ceiling and the sound tends to bounce there. Also, as a result of all of the wood the atmosphere is also not as "warm".

I enjoy them both but if I had to pick one, it would be Citricos. I like the food and the atmosphere a bit more there.

I prefer Narcoossee's over Citricos. Namely because we have been going to Narcoossee's for years now, and every single time we have gone, we have had wonderful service and delicious food. It is now a tradition for us to go once during each trip. We have only dined at Citricos twice. It was very good, it is just that we like Narcoossee's better.

Citricos has a more quiet atmosphere over Narcoossee's, so if that is important to you, then that would be a better choice.

Both are good restaurants so you won't go wrong with either. But I'd give the nod to Citrico's because its a more elegant room and feels a bit more up-scale and romantic.

Narcoossee's is nice if you want to see the fieworks. But since you'll already have seen them from the Poly that doesn't matter.

Both Citricos and Narcoosee's were fabulous on our trip last April. Given that you will have seen the fireworks, I'd go with Citricos. But I just wanted to add that I enjoyed our food AND service at both, with a slight nod to Citricos for service. The food at Narcoosee's was excellent though, but it was louder. I would not hesitate to return, but if I had to pick one, I'd pick Citricos.

We ate at both in Nov 2010 and the food is much better at Citrico's (pics on both places in my thread). The atmosphere was a bit busier than Narcoossee's

Service was top notch at both places

I think our atmosphere at Narcoossee's would have been alot better if there wasnt a family behind us fighting and cursing the entire time. THe food was not that wonderful though

Overall I will have to go with Citrico's because of the food quality

The food at Narcoossee's is amazing! It was seriously one of the best meals of my life and I'm from New Orleans, so I've had my share of amazing food.

We think they're both worth trying. We think Citricos is better. Narcoosees has a fun bar and great view and we recall good service. If you like Surf and Turf, then Narcoosee's is the only place on the grounds I think that offers that, otherwise, for overall food quality, Citricos is a winner for us. Where you are seated in both places can be a winner or deal killer. Try to get a window at Citricos so you're not in the server's walking paths, and try to get a booth window at Narcoosees to avoid the noise from the bar. Again, I personally think you would enjoy both, but we're big fans of Citricos.
