Has anyone been to Citricos recently? If so, I'd love to hear a review. I just booked there for our "dump the kids, it's date night!" dinner.

Always ;-)

We were there 2 years ago and the food was great. We all got the same thing, some fish dish. sorry I can't remember exactly what kind of fish it was but it was very good. Well prepared and we all enjoyed it.

Thanks Muffy!

Anyone else been there recently? Any tips on what to order, where to sit, etc?

Always ;-)

We ate there in May and will probably wind up there again this coming May. No seats have what you might call a "spectacular view". Last time out I had a Honey/ Paprika marinated pork tenderloin that was just out of this world delicious! And Mrs. Uncleromulus had a filet of Atlantic Cod that was also mighty-fine!.
Citrico's has a nice wine list and offers wine pairings too. The beer list is pretty pathetic, with Fischer's Alscace La Belle being the only offering out of the ordinary.
For dessert, try the mango Creme Brulee'
Citrico's is never crowded, and pretty quiet as a result.

Just a follow up:

We went to Citricos as our "No kids, Date Night" dinner on Nov 27. Our dinner was at 7pm and there were quite a few families with children there, but most were gone by the time we finished at 9.

Our server was Jamie, and he was great. We're relatively clueless about wines, so we opted for the wine pairings and he told us, that the selected wines were good, but he was going to bring us some better choices. They were awesome!

We started by splitting the pan seared quail. I joked to my hubbie that if I had know it would be that good, I would have ordered one just for myself. The quail was tasty, and the polenta it was served with was out of this word. Jaime served a light crisp wine with it, but I don't know the names of any of them. <sorry!>

For the second course, my hubbie had the lobster bisque, and I had the warm goat cheese and frisee salad. DH said his soup was fantastic, and my salad was incredible, tasty goat cheese in a pastry shell, with tomatos, chewy but crisp bacon and frisee greens (probably my least fav green, sort of wish it had mixed greens or baby spinach instead), Jaime served us both a second (but different) white wines. Dh's was bolder than mine, but I liked them both.

For the main course, DH had the Basil Crusted Rack of Lamb - with a ragout of spinach, shiitakes, and white beans and I had the Paprika and Honey-Marinated Pork Tenderloin - with caramelized onion risotto. Jaime brought us out different reds to have with our meals, and again, they were great. The lamb was perfect. I ordered the pork, because I had had potroast at lunch, and wasn't sure I wanted veal for dinner. The pork was nice, but I wish I had opted for the veal. The risotto that went with it however was superb. Not complaining though, it was good, I'm just not a huge pork fan.

For desert, Hubbie had the Lemon Cheese Cake - with fresh berries and I had the Tropical Fruit Creme Brulee. Jaime also brought out a glass of a terrific desert white wine for me, because I mentioned how I liked lighter, slightly sweet wines like German reislings. This one I remember, it was called Revolution 9, by a winery up in Oregon. Hubbie enjoyed the very lemony cheesecake, which was presented very dramatically. And the creme brulee, you ask? (Close your eyes, Mouseketeers) It was positively orgasmic. I am a huge lover of creme brulee, and I wasn't too sure I'd like a tropical fruit one, even though I love mangos and other trop fruits. All I can say is YUM!

So our dinner at Citricos was a definite success. Total with tax & tip was around $180. I think for a romantic dinner I'd book a little later next time, but the restataurant wasn't noisy, just not quiet as I hoped. We'll definitely put it on our list of places to return.

Always ;-)

Citricos was our splurge restaurant for our last trip in November, and it was fabulous, too! Every member of our party was pleased with their food, the service was unobtrusive, friendly and efficient, and the restaurant itself was very pretty. We will definitley go back when the purse allows!

Thanks for the detailed review - sounds yummy! And all of our desserts were spectacularly presented, too!

I'm so glad that you enjoyed Citricos! I enjoyed your detailed review!
