Can't decide between these 2 signature restaurants. This is for 4 adults & no kids. Which is better & why?

Citricos, not even close. Better food, better atmosphere and consistantly a quality meal.

Yachtsman is ok, nothing great. You can easily find better steaks elsewhere on property.

Totally agree. Also, unless you're staying in the Boardwalk area, Yachtsman is more time consuming to get to. JMHO and YMMV.

Citricos has always been our favourite signature.

I prefer Citricos, although Yachtsman is quite good as well, so you can't really go wrong with either one.

Hunh? :confused3 Not quite sure why this is stated as a categorical fact; whether Yachtsman or Citricos is more time consuming to get to really depends upon where you are coming from to get there.

Although we really like Yatchman and went twice during our trip in May including our aniversary dinner, Citricos food was a bit better and it was a more quiet place then the Yatchman. Those are 2 excellent restaurants IMO

I also think Citricos is better, although I think both are really good. To say yachtsman is just okay is a bit of an understatement, IMO. We had a fabulous meal there, with excellent scallops, a wonderful beet and prosciutto salad, a fabulous chicken dish with duck confit, quail egg and truffle crème fraîche, and some great desserts (including a nutella tasting trio that had a banana-nutella crêpe with strawberry gelato, a cup of liquid chocolate with candied bacon, and a marshmallow-nutella filled cone). You could have a great meal at either one.

No children, I would vote Citricos. Yachstmen is one of my favorite meals, but my kids also love it.

Citricos has better food, better presentation, better service, in a quiet atmosphere.

There is nothing special about Yachtsman anymore.

Both places are excellent choices and you won't be disappointed no matter which you go to. Although our preference is YSH, in your case I'd just go with which ever is more convenient to where you are going to be.

I voted for Citricos. Our last three dinners at YSH have been disappointing. And by contrast our dinners at Citricos have been exceptional.

We have reservations at Citricos (never been before) and was toying with the idea of changing it to Yachtsman, but by your posts & poll, looks like we will keep Citrico's.

We've never eaten at Citricos, but we loved Yachtsman.......the filet was so tender you could cut it with a butter knife :thumbsup2. Citricos is on our list to try, but we wouldn't hesitate to go back to Yachtsman :goodvibes.

Definitely Citricos. I ate at Yachtsman a few years ago and was very disappointed with the service and our food. There really isn't a comparison between the two restaurants. Citricos is very elegant with amazing food.

Glad to see this thread and the votes for Citricos. We have never eaten there before and have a ressie for next month.
Anyway, just wondering if you can see the fireworks from there. Our ressie is for 8pm.

Thanks,

Karen :)

I've eaten at Yachtsman before and had a mediocre meal. I've never eaten at Citricos. We have two couples heading down in Oct....some like fish, others prefer beef (and pretty plain beef at that)...so I booked Yachtsman again. But, I really wanted to try Citricos. Do you all that have been there before think it will be a good fit for a group that has beef and fish lovers in it??? I prefer plainer food but will go to Citricos and 'deal with it' if it's a good fit for everyone else.

There are usually more fish options at Citricos than at Yachtsman but the steaks at Yachtsman are plainer. Your best bet would be to evaluate the menus on allears to get an idea of what the offerings are and then either discuss it with the rest of your party or make a judgement call as to which would be a better fit. :thumbsup2

Voted for Citrico's...Yachtsman is pretty much steak and steak is steak (ie. nothing special that you couldn't make at home). The New York strip I had last night at home was better than the one I had at Yachtman's last year (and it was only $4.99 lb before trim).
