I got this big hoopla letter this summer...whoop de doo you are being raised to 5% cash back at certain places. This is the REGULAR offer, but apparently when I got the card I got the crappy offer. Ok so the deal was as of October 5th I'd get upgraded benefits.
Great...I figured I would use my card to pay for my purchase at Walgreens on Oct. 7th -- might as well get 5% back right? Wrong. I only got the 1% back. The strange thing is, when I view my statement online and click on the specific Walgreens transaction, it is listed as "Merchant Category DRUG STORES,PHARMACIES," so I should be getting the 5% back.
I know this is small potatoes, it just bugs me that they make a big deal out of this "upgrade" (they sent me the letter MONTHS in advance to get me prepared, LOL!) and then not even honor their own upgrade. I would have never even purchased the stuff on credit if I was only getting 1% back.
Oh another thing...believe it or not Drugstore.com is not classified as a Drugstore! Go figure
I know that the terms said something about online purchases. Guess they only qualify for the 5% if they identify themsevles as a drugstore, grocery store, etc. Apparently the company name DRUGSTORE.COM does not identify it well enough
I *hope* this isn't another "MyPoints" type of thing where you've got to fight to get the correct points awarded.
