Hello All,

I thought about getting tickets to Cirque du Soleil for our next visit to WDW in August. As a DVC member is there a discount on tickets? :confused3
Any thoughts on the show.

Eliza

I could find no current discounts through DVC, AP or Disney Visa. I bought vouchers, which are a few bucks cheaper, from Ticketmania and then called Cirque to reserve seats. We are going in April and good category 2 seats were about gone already, so you are wise to be thinking ahead. (N.B. Category 2 seats are just fine, IMHO. No reason to pay for category 1.)
We have seen the show many times and enjoy it just as much every time we go.

I am not sure of discounts, however, I would recommend getting the cheaper seats (up higher). Since most of the show takes place over your head, you avoid the neck-ache of looking up.

This advice was given to me on this board when I questioned if the show was worth the money...which it is.

I think it's one of the most extraordinary shows I've ever seen. To me, Cirque at DTD is one must-do for anyone who visits Disney regularly. I'm sure we'll do it again every couple of years.

I've seen Cirque's "O" at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, and I honestly enjoyed this show (La Nouba) more. It is just an amazing show from start to finish. There are three or four show-stopper acts in the show, and no mediocre acts. It's a really beautifully done performance.

I also agree with Jekjones1558 and others, the Cat 2 seats are just fine. We sat in Cat 1 last time, but I'll opt for the Cat 2's next time. I would, however, not accept Cat 3. Those look like pretty awful seats to me -- probably the only bad seats in the house.

Hi! I have been going back and forth about surprising my dh, and son(will be 13.5) with tickets, but can not decide if it is worth the $ for ds. I am wondering if he will truly enjoy it or would he rather just go to Disney Quest. There is also a thread over at the the theme park and attraction board about this and many have posted that yes it is well worth the money and a great show.

For those of you that ordered through ticket mania and saved a few dollars, I was wondering how that works. Do you order them and it is charged to your credit card and then you call to arrange for the seats and then ticket mania sends you the tickets once you have called to order seats?? I am sorry if that is a stupid question, but this kind of ordering is new to me. Thanks. I still can not decide what to do either.

Good Luck eliza61 with your decision. :earsgirl:

Make ressies directly with Cirque. Tell them you will be paying with vouchers. Buy vouchers separately from Ticketmania. Take vouchers to the Will Call window at Cirque and get your pre-reserved seats.

Certainly DS will love Disneyquest, but I also think that he will enjoy Cirque, especially the young guys doing tricks on bicycles and the grand finale acrobats. Good luck as you make your decision!

We went November 30th and got tickets through MS. There was I believe a 25% discount for Cat 2 seats for DVC members. I agree with Kim, alot of action occurs high, so not sitting down low if fine. The show is worth it. :earsboy:

I agree that there's no doubt he will find plenty to like in La Nouba. But with a 13 y/o boy, Disney Quest may be HIS choice. And that might be the answer -- present both alternatives and let him choose.

OTOH, you could do both, or maybe you could work something where he did DQ and you and hubby went to La Nouba right next door.

Thanks so much for the replies to my questions and concerns. :earsgirl: Everyone is always so helpful here.

I think maybe this time we will just do DQ because DS will be graduating from 8th grade this June and going on to high school in Sept. so I did tell him he could plan a day of our trip, as a graduation treat. He did mention DQ but said he knows it is a lot of money. Last time we went (just 1 time a few years ago), it was included in our ticket. I was just thinking of La Nouba(more $, of course) on my own as a surprise to dh and ds, but maybe we will wait on that one.

JimMIA It would be nice if dh and myself could go and send ds to DQ, but he would be too lonely. We hope some day to have a friend come along with ds and then maybe we can do that. I would LOVE to do both, but do not know if I could justify the cost at one time for the 3 of us. Thanks again for all the advice.

eliza61 Yeah, too bad there does not seem to be a DVC discount right now, but I do remember at some point they did have the discount that dvc- NE talked about. Too bad there is nothing right now.

We have taken all ages to this show, and they all love it!

Oh Thanks Muushka and Diane for the comments.

Muushka: It is funny as an only child :sad1:, I do sometimes think he is spoiled and does not appreciate things, however, as he is getting older, he does seem to be understanding the cost of things more and does seem to weigh the cost compared to value of things when purchasing things. :teeth:

Diane: When I hear comments like yours, I wonder if I am doing the wrong thing by just going to DQ this time and saving LaNouba for another trip. We are going to be there in July so I know it will be nice to do things inside in air conditioned places. I just do not know if we should spend that extra money, while we already have AP's for this trip.

Eliza: Sorry to have taken over this thread. Have you decided if you are going to LaNouba? If so, have fun and let us know how it was for your family!

Patty :earsgirl:

Well it sounds to me like you are doing a great job parenting!

We were there a few days before dvc-NE. Were told on the phone by MS no discounts, but got the same 25% off in person at La Nouba box office.

Agree that the mid-priced tickets were fine. It's a pretty expansive show; sitting too close or too low would have been a problem for us.

Great show, one of the best we've ever seen. 8 year-old son loved it.
