How long is the 6pm show? I was going to make reservations at Rainforest after 6pm show on July 4, but want to be sure I allow enough time after show...and also hope to finish eatting for any fireworks in area. any suggestions...

The CM at the reservations line told me it was 1 hour and 45 minutes. Hope that helps!

I'd make your reservation at RFC for 8:15 or 8:30. The show is about 1 3/4 hours, but maybe you'll end up in the gift shop afterwards, and then it's a bit of a walk over to RFC

Thanks everyone...does this mean that we would probably miss some fireworks? Maybe I'll do a late lunch/early dinner at RFC around 3pm, before the show so afterwards we won't miss anything! Does this mean that there is a cost for the kids to be at 'Pleasure Island' in the evening; that is where Cirque is, correct?

What would you recommend for a dining time at Boma after the 6pm show? We are driving our own car.

There is no charge to get to Cirque, which is not in Pleasure Island. It is in Downtown Disney West-Side and you actually have to walk back toward Downtown Disney to get to Pleasure Island; also, I believe they have ended the entry charge to PI. The 6 o'clock show will end about 7:40 to 7:50; it can vary depending on actual start time which can vary by 5 or 10 minutes. It is a non-stop show (no breaks, so go before you enter). For Rainforest, you have to walk a long way from Cirque and thus 8:30 is the safer time. When you say fireworks, I am not sure which ones you are referring to since Downtown Disney area does not have them and you will be about 4 miles away from any. To get back to a park--MK for fireworks, Epcot for Illuminations (with fireworks), or MGM for Fantasmic (with some fireworks)-- by bus after Cirque can easily take an hour. To get back to AKL (Boma) by bus can take 25 to 40 minutes depending on how long you have to wait for a bus; by car 20 minutes. Also note, particularly for Rainforest Cafe, that wait time in that place, even if you have a ressie, can be long.

Eating at RFC before Cirque is a great idea, but be sure to allow enough time to walk from RFC back to Cirque. I would suggest leaving RFC no later than 5:20PM. I've never been there 4th of July, so I don't know if there are any special fireworks anywhere. And yes, you can walk through pleasure island without admission and long as you don't go into any of the clubs.

To be on the safe side with Boma, I'd say 8:30. 20 minute drive time is about right, but still have to allow for time to walk to/from car.
