Hoping this wonderful board can give me some insight into these 2 char events. I know Cindy's is THE most difficult PS to snag.....but is it worth it??? How IS the interaction w/ Cindy? The castle setting? And of course, the food too. LOL

And how is the char dinner at 1900 Park Fare? Doesn't it have Cindy and friends too? (I know, chars are subject to change at each one....who have you seen?) Again, what is the setting like? and the food? I'm just wondering if we're lucky enouh to score seats at both...should we keep both reservations?? Or if we happen to get Cindy's...wil Park Fare not be as great?

Thanks in advance for the help!!!

Keep them both if you get them. 1900 Park Fare is your standard resort buffet. It is good for a big variety of food.

Cinderella's Royal Table is all you can eat, but they bring it out in a platter. Not as much variety. But it IS in the castle.

Character interaction is the same as any other character dinner.

Do others agree?????

Out of the two I much prefer 1900 Park Faire. We have done Cindy's 3 times but 1900 5 times. We make 1900 a must do on our trips. You are comparing dinner to breakfast so it would depend on what meal you want to eat. While Cindy's has the ambience of being in the castle, the food wasn't that great. It was just okay. 1900 has probably the best character meal food in WDW. I have been to all the character meals in WDW. The interaction with the characters are much better and less hurried at 1900 too. My now 6 y/o DD prefers 1900 too. We only do Cindy's now if we need our castle fix which is about every 5 trips. 1900 we do every trip.

I was at Cindy's castle about 3 weeks ago. Food was ok but that wasn't what we came for. My children fell in love with this place. They thought they were in a real castle. Biggest thrills for DD5 were seeing the fairy godmother sitting in the lobby when she came in, walking up the spiral staircase to the dining room and seeing all the princesses at once when she walked in. We had a lovely view over Fantasyland and every princess was gracious and perfect at their character. Mary Poppins was outstanding. Conclusion: food average but experience could not be beaten.

After several breakfast's with the Princesses in the Castle, we now book either lunch or dinner there and then book 1900 Park Fare for the Princess dinner. Much better food. We really don't care for the breakfast at the Castle.

Fairy Godmother is also at 1900 Park Fare along with Suzy and Perla, the mice, Prince Charming, and Cinderella.

but that food won't be so good. Now I'm wondering if it's just too soon.
Dd will only be 2.5 and ds 5.5. OK, so I'm the one who's craving to see it at this point....but I'm thinking my dd will love it too. How about ds? LOL he'll probably have a crush on the princesses!!!! The other factor is dh, he doesn't eat eggs....but I hear they serve Frenchtoast and bacon/sausage too and he claims that will be fine.

Will we be going back to Disney in future years??? yes. But if I'm lucky enough to get a Cindy's PS this trip...should I go for it? Or just stick w/ Crystal Palace & 1900 Park Fare? (We've done Chef MIckey's before and thought we'd try 1900 PF this trip)

When was niece was barely 3 years old we took her to Cindy's. Her eyes got so big when the princesses came by the table. She would immediately jump out of her chair to hug them and get a picture. I have seen some younger children not enjoy it as much. There was a little girl next to us last year that was probably around the age of 3 and she was terrified of hte princesses. I felt so bad for her parents. But the princesses do a great job when the kid is scared. Also the food is pre-plated. We started off with danishes and blueberry muffins. Then they brought out the pre-plated breakfast. I don't think it was that bad. We always get PSs for first thing in the morning through. It's always been hot and fresh. Just make sure you tell your waiter about your DH not liking eggs I bet they can give him more French toast.

With your kids ages, I would definitely give the breakfast a shot. My DD was about that age the first time we took her. I always think of that Mastercard commercial:

Fifty hang-ups and re-dials at 6:58 AM $5.00
Two decent adult breakfasts $50.00
Three barely touched kids breakfasts $30.00

The look on my daugter's face when Cinderella came up to her - PRICELESS!

My other advice is don't build it up to be a super-huge important thing and definitely don't even mention it to your kids before you have a PS so there won't be any disappointments if you don't get it. And honestly, there are so many places to make magic at WDW, that I wouldn't sweat it if you can't get in. Enjoy your trip.

I haven't been to 1900 Park Faire, but we really enjoyed the breakfast at CRT. I thought the food was good. I loved the stuffed French toast! Your dd will be free, they'll bring her unstuffed French toast sticks. My dd's were 20 months and 5 when we went. The 5yo was in awe the whole time. The 20mo enjoyed the French toast and LOVED Mary Poppins. It was so cute just watching her stare! If you can get it, I would certainly go. The castle is beautiful and just seeing all the little girls in their princess dresses is fun! (My dd's were just in regular clothes, but they didn't seem to mind.) My 5yo just had a problem figuring out why Mary Poppins was there. "She is NOT a princess, Mommy!" Good luck!

I don't like the castle, I don't think you are missing to much money. I prefer 1900 have been going to disney 16 years , twice a year, was at the castle in july and won't go back for breakfast ever. I just sent you an email about breakfast vouchers if you use them you are paying the same price as 1900 and not spending anymore.

I like Cindy's, but I was not impressed with dinner at 1900 Park Faire. Ther service was bad, the character interaction horrible and the food was not replentished. Given that everyone else loves the place, I think I was just there at a bad time.

Have you considered breakfast at the Crystal Palace? Your son might like the Pooh characters better. Do you have any idea how your DD will react to the characters? Mine was very afraid of all the characters (even the Princesses!) at 2 1/2.

My DD was 2 1/2 the first time she ate in the castle with the princesses and she has been hooked ever since. She now thinks it is a 'must' that Cinderella invite her to breakfast- however I've tried to tell her we might have to let others have a turn- if we don't get it. Anyway, at 2 1/2, DD was sooooo excited! She would not take her big eyes off the princesses! She ran so hard to Cinderella when she came to our table that she knocked Cindy to her feet! Cindy was great about it, got down on the floor, and let DD sit on her dress to hug all over her. It was priceless! She also wouldn't let go of Snow White, who joked that she might be the 8th dwarf! No, the food isn't spectacular. Actually, I am so busy during this meal I don't think I acutally 'taste' it anyway, I'm inhaling it so I can get the camcorder, autograph books, camera, etc. Is it worth it? I've never seen my daughter's eyes so big and full of excitement as our visits here. She loves the princesses and to her this is heaven. So, yep, my vote is do CRT. Or both. I've never been to 1900 Park fare, but I would definitely do CRT b/c of all the princesses, not just Cindy. Remember, you don't go here for the food. YOu go here for the experience and for your dd to feel like a real princess in a real castle. That, to me, is priceless. Enjoy these magical years while they are still young and the magic is real!
BTW- DS has been twice. The first trip he was 2 1/2 and loved the princesses- they made such a big fuss over him and gave him lipstick kisses all over his face- which he wouldn't wipe off. This past year he was 3 1/2 and didn't really care for CRT. THe princesses were great with him. They would feel him out. If he responded well, they'd talk to him. Belle asked if he wanted to get his picture made with her and he said no- she giggled and continued talking to DD.
Have a magical time! princess:

If I had to choose, it would be CRT at the Castle hands down.

If I was able to get both, I don't think I'd do both. If I couldn't get CRT, I'd do 1900 Park dinner with Cinderella.

I wasn't all that impressed with the food at the buffet dinner.

Nothing beats the atmosphere/location of CRT, IMHO.

...for the really great info'n!!! :goodvibes

Some asked about how my dd does w/ chars....when she was 1...she was totally in awe of Mickey and Minnie. We have THE best pics of her interacting w/ the chars at Chef Mickeys. We watch a lof of the Disney Sing A Long videos (the ones at the parks) and she seems to really love the chars...so I think she'll do fine.

Mike: I love that commerical....I hope it will be SO true for us too!!!!

Yes, I have a confession to make... I GOT THROUGH THIS MORNING AND WE HAVE A PS at CRT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was just once I got it....I started wondering if I was just caught up in the Cindy mayhem. I'm going to take your advice and NOT tell the kids about it until we're there. I still can't believe it. :cloud9: Sunday, May 1st, we'll be having b'fast in the castle w/ Cindy and other princesses!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!! :cool1:

I too got through for a May 1 bfast at the castle today. Called again later in the day (after waking up a bit more) and asked a few other questions. During the discussion the castmember told me CRT will be changing 4/10 to have only Cinderella and her friends. The other princesses will NOT be there. They will be at the Princess Storybook bfast in Norway at Epcot. They are going to start doing the Epcot character meal all 3 meals and change the castle to just Cinderella, Prince, Fairy Godmother and the mice. My dd6 thinks bfast in the castle with all the princesses is part of every wdw trip so it's going to be interesting to see which she chooses when she gets home from school today!

Epcot Mom

OK, now I don't know what to believe. I just called again asking a cm what my princess dining options are. She told me she has no info about CRT changing, only the Princess Storybook in Epcot. She said the castle is remaining as it always has. I think I'll go ahead and make my 3-4 reservations for it during our May trip and cancel as we get closer and they have a better idea what is going on.

The things we do for our kiddos!!

The more I read these boards, the more I can't believe how many diff't stories people hear from various CMs! You would think they would have a better "party line" as to what is to be shared so it would be uniform. Oh well, at this point, I'm just so happy to have CRT...and whoever shows up, will be great. :goodvibes princess:

Doesn't surprise me that they're trying to beef up interest in the Norway meals by "throwing" if you will, a lot of princesses in that direction, but I can't believe they'll do anything to dilute the good thing they have going at CRT either. Who knows.

Now if they'll only release the April hours!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

We're going May 1st too! What time is your seating? I think we got the last available at 11:00. I'm so excited I got through this morning! I started calling at 6:50 and finally got through at 7:02. Was on hold for about 10-12 minutes and then the CM answered! I about pee'd my pants when she told me there was a seating available! Woohoo!!!! I can't wait for May 1st to come!!!! :)
