I have early dinner reservations at Cindrella's castle prior to our Princess & Pirate night in February. Based on the reviews I have read, I am considering changing to Crystal Palace. Eatting with a 8 yr old girl and 9 yr old boy. Your comments please!

CP without a doubt. The food is very good and a lot cheaper than CRT

I'd probably go with Crystal Palace. With Cindy's, I thought eating in the castle was cool but it was overpriced and the food was very average.

We ate at the Castle last year with our group...Had to try it at least once...however...Crystal Palace is a :thumbsup2 from everybody..including all the kids, in our group. We are also going to the Pirates and Princess Party this February and have reservations at Crystal Palace that evening. :woohoo:

Definitely CP. We ate at the castle once and it was enough. Friendly staff, but whoever was in the kitchen just couldn't get my DDs order right and when it did come out right (three tries), it was lukewarm. The others in our party had eaten their meals and even though I had waited, DD felt very self-conscious and over-hungry, too. She was very upset and wound up not being able to eat. As I said, the people were really nice, and the manager sent us a little tray of pastries to compensate, but the names of the treats were a lot better than the actual taste. We were not impressed and could not get out of there fast enough. However, I do consider a castle meal a "must do" just because it is The Castle, so while it was bad that it turned out the way it did, I am glad we went.

Thanks for your responses. Since we have never had a meal in the castle I think we're going to try it - just won't expect much and maybe we'll be surprised! Thanks again.

I guess I would be in the minority here... we love CP for breakfast but not at all for dinner...we would eat at the castle. Just like many things Disney you are paying a lot for the atmosphere.....

I can't comment on CP because we haven't done that yet, but we have CRT dinner reservations for May. Last time we were there for dinner it was not a pre-priced event, but the food was excellent (May '04). Our dds were nearly 3 and nearly 1 at the time and now have no recollection of it. Since they will be almost 6 and almost 4 this time we are going again. I know they will absolutely love eating in the castle and I can't imagine that the food could really be THAT terrible now. We're going with an open mind and hoping for a great evening. Eating in the castle is a special experience IMO.

Just thought I would throw in my opinion. We ate dinner at both when we were there in Oct.And really liked them both. Had heard some of the comments about the food at Cindy's but really wanted to eat in the Castle once, and we really liked the food.HAVE FUN.
