I just read on allears that starting in February that Cindy's will have a set meal with a set price for dinner. ACK! What does this mean? Will we not be able to eat the prime rib there anymore? My wife will be devastated.

Let me know!

I wonder if it means a kind of all you can eat "family style" like they have for breakfast. I kind of like keeping dinner a little more "classier" and having something off a menu.

My guess is that it will be served like lunch, where the menu is "streamlined" to two or three possible appetizers/four or five possible entrees and two or three possible desserts. It is served like table service, but the princesses are around.

As to whether or not there will be prime rib, that is left up to the menu "streamliners" I suppose. To my knowledge the new menu offerings have not yet been announced.

There's great Prime Rib at Shula's in the Dolphin.

I haven't seen the new menu yet, but I bet the prime rib will be one of the dinner choices (that seems to be what everyone orders there). It's too bad they are changing the dinner, I was finally going to get to eat there this summer. We are on the dining plan, and I won't spend 2 credits though, call me cheap!

I am not impressed with the lunch menu that they have.

Yes, they will still have the prime rib:

"The greater change is in the entree, however, as the current eight entrees have been reduced to four, three of which may change on a daily basis. There are "Chef's Creation" offerings of chicken, pasta and seafood. The fourth option will come as a comfort to several, as the Prime Rib will still be available."

Please tell me they will still have the filet mignon too?!?!?

Also, dinner is not going to be a character meal is it? From what I've read, it's just supposed to have Cinderella or something?? :confused3

Good grief, they couldn't leave dinner in the castle alone, could they. :sad2: :rolleyes2 :bored:

No, just the ribeye :(

I wish they could have left dinner alone, as well. Plus left a regular dinner open at Norway. This princess thing is getting really overwhelming.

My family wishes they had left lunch alone. :sad2:

No choice of appetizers at lunch BTW.

I too wish they had left well enough alone here. Unfortunatly DH has already promised DD a breakfast in the castle next visit. I was just over at allears.com (deb wills) my understanding is if you book before Feb 1,06 that you will get the old prices no matter when your stay is I might be misunderstanding what I'm reading tho.

Also there will be a photo op in the lobby to get pic package with Cindy and Cindy will no longer be in the restaurant. Another money maker I'm sure and another thing I wish had been left well enough alone.

OH WHY OH WHY did DH have to make that promise??

That isn't the case. Rather, the prices go into effect as of February 1, 2006, regardless of when you book your visit.

The wording could be misinterpreted, though, so folks are well-advised to take notice: "All reservations for dining at Cinderella's Royal Table prior to February 1, 2006, will follow current pricing and deposit payment policies." If they had meant what you suggested, they would have said "... made prior to February 1, 2006, for dining at Cinderella's Royal Table, ..." Subtle difference.

They were lucky, in a way, that the 180 day ADR policy wasn't in effect prior to the decision to increase the prices. There actually weren't any reservations made for after February 1, 2006 before the price increase was announced. (Now whether folks booking for post-February 1, 2006 asked, when they booked, about what the price would be -- that's another matter.)

Disney is making WAY TOO MANY dining changes - and all at once.

I think a new CEO is in order.

Convenient that they just got one! :)

Yep, that's probably part of the reasons all the new changes are going into effect.
