While it is hard for me to justify spending more on a 5 min ride than I am on either of my venues, i just can't decide.

- Right now after hearing some negative comments from friends:cool2: who think its "cheezy, I started to second guess my decision. It is very Disneyish and since will are already getting married there, would this be over doing it?

-Would it be better to just get a nice stretch escalade limo for us and our bridal party and save a ton of money?

-will i regret it for the rest of my life if I don't have it?

HA!
I was in the same predicament about a month ago. I really, really wanted the coach, but I could NOT justify that much money for such a short ride!
Everyone told me that is was worth it, but until I experienced it for myself, I didn't believe them. I didn't understand it!
But, let me tell you it was worth EVERY penny! My mom surprised me on my wedding day with it because she knew I wanted it but couldn't afford it. (but after knowing what I know now, there's no way I would do it without the coach)
And..I was also worried about it being cheesy..and overly done...but I don't think that thought crossed my mind once during our rides. People everwhere we standing around taking our pictures.. it was so perfect! Plus, they take you from the GF to the pavilion, around the lot after the ceremony, and then back across to the GF after pictures!
Do what ever will make you happiest, but I totally recommend the experience!
I loved it!!!

Oh I think it is worth it...I look at all the girls who have done it and it is probably such a special memory to them! The coach is gorgeous!

we saw it in feb and i thought it looked very tired and needed a revamp. I much prefer the coach in disneyland. We opted for the horse drawn landau which is $1700 still expensive but not as bad as the coach

We wasn't going to have the coach, my DH's words were something along the lines of 'don't think you will ever get me to go in that glass box!'. My sister-in-law also said it would be tacky which also put me off.

Two months before the wedding my DH changed his mind and we booked it. I can honestly say I don't regret it at all. My DH said that he now thinks that having a car wouldn't having given the same effect.

My sister-in-law also said it fitted in perfectly with the day!

I am in the same situation, I really really really want it!!!! But I just don't think my budget will stretch that far. I don't think its tacky at all, I would just love ot be the center of attention and have people taking pics, I'm sure its worth it if you can afford it!

I think Cindy's coach would be worth it if you have the money to splurge, but unfortunately we do not. What I did while making my budget was prioritize what was the most important to me and allocate our budget accordingly. We ended up with extras that I think I'll be happier with than Cindy's coach. :goodvibes I think it's wonderful and I love looking at everyone's pictures who have it!

YES! It is worth it! :goodvibes

First, it is not a five-minute ride. To get anywhere in that thing takes about 15-20 minutes, which is a good thing. It's 5 minutes in a limo, which is not a ton of time to even look at each other and enjoy that "hey-we-just-got-married" feeling! Plus, you'll be alone in the coach - there's no room for anyone else, which is also a good thing! :goodvibes

Second, having the coach changes your whole timeline. Getting in and out of the coach is a whole different experience - you will be assisted by the footmen who will walk beside the coach the entire way. (I told you, it's not a quick ride!) :rotfl2:

After your ceremony, you will "exit" in the coach for your guests, then return to your site for coach pictures. They are worth every penny. NOTHING says "I got married at Disney" more than an MK photo shoot and the coach. :thumbsup2

We had an Intimate wedding and the coach was my big splurge - and I don't have one single moment that I regret it. This is coming from a bride who did not have a magical Disney wedding experience, so that means a LOT. The coach rides went off flawlessly and I was truly treated like a princess by every single person who worked with the coach and the ponies. princess:

Truly - don't let people talk you out of something that you want. Whether it's the coach or not, make sure it's YOUR decision. If you give up something you want because someone else thought it was silly - well, that's one decision you WILL regret! ;)

Going to try to add a picture here:

We are staying at the GF and having our reception at AAR, how would our timing work with the coach after the ceremony? I wanted pictures at picture point and inside with our families, would we still be able to do that with the coach? Also we are having buses take us to the reception how would that work if we took the coach back to the gf?

Not tacky in the slightest! It's romantic and wonderful! I wanted the coach so much, but I just couldn't make it work in the budget. I can't say that I regret not having it, my wedding was perfect in my mind, but had I had the extra money I would have gone for it. :)

I don't know how you would get to AAR as our reception was at the GF. But they stage an exit for you in the coach, you go for a little ride, and then you go back in the WP for more photos. Thats what happened with us anyway, when we were done the coach took us to the GF.

Seems like the general consensus is "You will not regret it if you have the coach, and you will not regret it if you don't." :) In the time I've been on these baords, I've never heard anyone regert either decision.

Don't worry - as the bride you will get PLENTY of attention and people taking pictures, whether you're in the coach or not. :goodvibes

I was in the same position and after thinking financially I got the Landau coach which I think is just as nice and it has a more Beauty and the Beast and Enchated feel which reflects us very well....

I would say get it you can't have it anywhere else but Disney for a wedding!

You will have great memories and pictures!!

It is a must if you can afford it. We had the coach and it was so magical. I do not think it is overpriced, if you think about it they have to look after the ponies, the upkeep of the coach which is not dated at all, in fact we got married in November last year and they had only just taken delivery back as it had gone in for maintenance and respraying etc. You have the footman and you are in it for a lot longer than 15 minutes. The photos you get from it are with you forever and the memories you get with it are just indescribable.

It is not cheesy like some people said it would be it is amazing.

Pfft!
Getting married in Disney World is "cheesy"! ;)

Don't let comments like that get to you. Then you may as well be talked out of having a Disney wedding in the first place.

Nothing is more fairy tale than riding in a glass coach to/from your wedding.

BTW, more pics please! I just can't get enough of seeing people all happy sitting in the coach! :goodvibes

I have to agree with the "go for it" people. We, unfortunately, did not "qualify" for Cinderella's Coach because we got married at Seabreeze Point, but we did have the Landau Coach and we loved every minute of it--even when it rained for the loop around the boardwalk after the ceremony!!

My dad said it was some of the best money he ever spent, because he adored having those 10 minutes to ourselves to talk and be together. And he loves the pics we have of us with the carriage.

But, at the same time, I still would have had an absolutely breath-taking day, even if I hadn't had a carriage of any sort. It was just so special because it was out wedding day--and it was in DISNEY!!--that the carriage was just the icing on the cake.

I think the carriage is great, if that's your thing. Frankly, I'd love to negotiate a little.

"Hey, how much for one of the ponies?"

Seriously, I'd love to just hang out and pet it.
