My husband and I are going for a Valentine's/Anniversary trip in February 2012. I know that this is extremely advanced planning but I always like to have some idea of what we will be doing. He has chosen Le Cellier. I have been thinking about Cinderella's Royal Table simply for the fact of eating in the castle. I have heard mixed reviews about the food and service. Will this dining experience be worth 2 TS credits each? I certainly don't want to waste them on bad food or wish I had used them somewhere else. Help!

Even though it is the only place to get the "castle" experience, I cannot recommend CRT for the food. Having eaten at a lot of places around WDW, I can think of several places where your 4TS credits would be better, especially if you are looking for a romantic dinner.

1. Jiko
2. Citricos
3. Flying Fish
4. Yachtsman
5. Narcoosee's
6. California Grill
7. Bistro de Paris
8. A meal at Chefs de France and another meal at Sanaa

That being said, if you want to eat in the castle, and it means a lot to you to do that, this is the only way to do it. It's also a character meal, so if that is important to you, it is a plus for CRT, as well.

I didn't find the food worth the $$. It's worth it for the experience but not for the food. For that amount of $$ you can eat at much better places at Disney.

If you've never done it before, then I would say do it. Have I had better food at WDW? Yes. Have I had cheaper, better food? Yes. However, it is about eating in the castle and I enjoyed it simply for that reason.

BTW, make sure the restaurants know it's your anniversary. We got a free champagne toast at Le Cellier and other little things from other restaurants.

The food's, at best, mediocre. But so what? You're in Disney World, and you have an opportunity to eat dinner at the castle. What could be better for your anniversary or Valentine's day?

Although I'm typically a foodie, I leave that behind when I go to WDW. Here's why: I can get a great meal just about anywhere, but I can only get Disney experiences at Disney World or Disneyland.

My $0.02.... Go to CRT. And have a great time and a meal you won't ever forget. You can always fill up on turkey legs on the way out!

First of all congratulations!
This is one of those things where you have to weigh whats more important to you on your special day. This is a romantic trip and even though the food at CRT is not the best, the experience is unforgettable! It's just so beautiful and the service is great. I do have to say though that Le Cellier is amazing! The food is exquisite! Even though I have heard a couple of negative remarks lately, not everyone is going to like all restaurants. I am very much looking forward to our lunch we have reserved next month. Also, Narcoosees is very nice and has good food so does Yachtsman Steakhouse!

I hope you have a magical stay!:lovestruc

For an adult meal I would not choose either. I would look at menu/infor for California Grill, Citricos, Flying Fish, BlueZoo or Shula's.

We've done CRT twice now and won't go back. The food really wasn't that good, and we felt like we were rushed through our meal both times. Princesses seemed really rushed too.

For an anniversary dinner I'd use the 2TS credits for one of the signature restaurants. Narcoosee's, Citrico's and the Flying Fish are all really good.

Personally, if it were me and my anniversary, I'd go to Victoria and Alberts.

Congratulations and have a great time whatever you decide.

If they were still doing the old show with the Fairy God Mother and the Mice, or you were taking children then I'd say go for it. But as a romantic meal for adults it's just not worth it.

Personally I'd go with the California Grill, preferably during the fireworks. Though an Epcot WS Restraunt is good too.

All good places - but Bistro de Paris doesn't accept the dining plan.

I agree. Don't choose CRT for the food. Choose it for the castle/princess experience, and if you end up liking the food, bonus. If it's the food that means the most to you, pick from the above list.

I wouldn't go to CRT unless I had my daughter with me. The food isn't good and even though it's beautiful inside, I got just as much out of it from the outside view. Just my 2 cents!

We have been to the Royal table twice for a late breakfast. Food was pretty good. However you're in the castle IT IS WONDERFUL. It the closest most of us will ever get to actually staying in the Cinderalla suite. I think its a must if you have never tried it.

I would suggets Ohana at the Poly. It's really great food, and fun enviroment.

Good luck!!

Sorry forgot to metion about Le Cellier. We really enjoyed the food. It was nice a quite. Nice change from the louder resturants.

:)

We dined here on our anniversary trip.
I am glad we got to experience the castle once but would not rush back. We were seated at a window seat over looking the park which was quite nice. The food was good but extremely rushed. Not quite what my hubby had in mind for the price of the food!

Don't waste your time or credits. If you had a little "Princess" with you, I'd say go for it.

I've heard there is construction on the castle that blocks the view right now. How bad is it? Any pictures?

My parents and I (aka three real-world adults) just ate at CRT, and loved it! The food was delicious, warm and cooked just as were ordered it, it was probably tied with Le Cellier for the best food all week. The atmosphere is second to none, it's small and cozy and has a special feel to it. Our server was great, never rushed us and was really friendly and was just overall really helpful. Also there were a few just adult couples, wasn't just families with little kids.

They are doing work outside in the back, so unfortunately there are curtains covering all the windows, but unless you're sitting by a window you don't really notice. Heck, we were sitting by a window and I barely even noticed.
