I have 2 boys (ages 7 and 9) and 2 girls (ages 3 and 11). We have a reservation at Cinderella's Royal Table at 5:25 pm in a couple of weeks. My first question is will my boys like this experience? Last week we went to see the movie Enchanted and I almost had a male-mutiny on my hands with all the princess-y stuff. I don't want to deal with that again at an expensive dinner.

Also, at the time I am going is this a "character dinner"? I read somewhere that only the Fairy Godmother is there to greet you at dinner. Seems like a waste of time if there will be no princesses.

-thanks

We took our DS6 to a CRT breakfast when we went in July. He loved it. At 1st he only did it for mom, but he ended up having a great time. He got his sword and his wishing star and all the princess' made a huge fuss over him.
I don't know about princess' being at dinner. Last I heard, someone said it was the Fairy Godmother and the mice from the movie. I still believe you have your pictures taken with Cinderella in the lobby before you go up for your meal.
Not a ton of help, sorry, never had dinner there, but my DS6 had a great time. :goodvibes

My nephew loved CRT. He was more interested in seeing the inside of the castle, not the princesses. But it was definitely worth it. When I made the ADR, the CM told me to book either the breakfast or the lunch for character interaction, not the dinner. Hope this helps!

My 10 yr old son (was 7 at the time) was NOT happy that he had to eat in the castle. There was no 'wow' factor for him LOL This go around him and Dad will go some where else while us girls eat there.

We did CRT for dinner this past September. I was concerned about my DS 4 1/2 as he was just entering that "I hate princesses" stage.

It wasn't his favorite meal of our trip but he did enjoy being in the castle. All guests meet with Cinderella downstairs before being escorted up to the dining room. He wouldn't go near Cinderella. So our picture includes only our DD.

But he enjoyed the meal and the view. He also loved the sword he rec'd.

At dinner, the only characters upstairs were the fairly godmother and the mice. They did a little show with a song and dance. It was cute.

We all loved being inside the castle, it was a great experience. But if you're looking for a lot of princesses, this isn't the meal for you.

My experience was positive. I went into it assuming my son would be unimpressed. He was seven at the time, and ended up really enjoying it. He was given a sword to the girls' magic wants.
One thing to remember is that this is Disney World--most kids are having a ball, letting loose with their "inner kid," and get into the overall scene of the place. The mice were cool too!

We are going in a few weeks also! I have purposely avoided this meal b/c I've read some unfavorable reviews of it on this site (food is blah), AND it costs 2 table credits, AND there is very limited princess interaction.

When we went last January, we did the Princess Storybook breakfast at Akershus. It was FABULOUS! We had a photo with Belle at the beginning, then Ariel, Jasmine and Aurora came around to the tables (the food was fantastic). They each spent a LOT of time with my DD -- I got some fantastic pics!

This time we are having dinner at 1900 Park Fare. I have not been before, but what I've read on here is that Cinderella, Prince Charming, the godmother, step-sisters and mice are all there. The boys might get a kick out of Prince Charming. My son is 2.5YO, so too young to have an opinion.

If you think the boys will throw a fit about it, you could always just take the girls and let the boys go somewhere else (assuming their dad will be with you). Best of luck!

We've been to CRT several times and my boys loved it. (but they've never been in any sort of 'cooties' stage with girls - some of their best friends are girls). It's where my siggy picture was taken. They wanted to go there again last month (ages 9 & 11) but we had to cancel at the last minute.

Lol about the Enchanted near mutiny! We went to see it with 2 10 year old boys and they spent the time using their ipods(for which they got into trouble later, I can tell you!)
