The breakfast is listed at $32.00 per person, my charge card (have to add free dining when we get there) was charged $89.00????

what is the extra charge for???
I have read something about a photo you pay for ahead of time????

Still debating weather it is worth using two table services for this???
Opinions???

thanks
Barb

Probably tax and gratutity. They automatically add both of these things to your bill from what I understand. The gratuity would be about $11 or so, and tax would probably be around $5. Still doesn't add up to $82 though, so Im not sure. Just a guess. From what I understand, if you're not the DDP, they charge your credit card right away for the meal, so when you get there you don't pay anything at all, its all prepaid. This is the reason Im thinking that they added the tip and tax in right away too. My calculations take you to about $80 give or take...so Im not sure why the extra two dollars or so. Hope this helps.

That's correct. The total includes your meal, tax, and gratuity. You're all set. Enjoy it -- we sure did! In fact, it was soooo good, we tipped another twenty before we left!

I made CRT breakfast ressies today.
Total cost per adult was $44.80
Total cost per child was $29.86

That includes tax and tip and also your photo package.

Are you going during a holiday surcharge period or was the price raised? We booked a few months ago for next Sunday, and I know my card was only charged 30 something for adults and low 20's for my dd.... I will have to go back and see the exact amount.

We're going in early November, so no surcharge that I'm aware of. The booking page said Adults $36.97 and children 24.97 BEFORE tax/tip.

There probably isn't much fanfare when the Disney restaurants raise prices like when the ticket prices go up. ;)

So how much will the dining plan pay then?? Are we going to have to pay some of it????

The only thing you are left to pay is the tip if you are on the dining plan.

I have 10 character meals. I printed envelopes off of mousesavers and put my tips in each envelope so they will be ready BEFORE we leave.

Are you already booked with free dining? You can't add the plan when you get there. It has to be booked at least ten days before you check in.

I was going to ask . I don't know all the ins and outs, but am not aware of a free dining plan that you can add once you arrive???

Yes we already have the free dining, the CM told me the wrong way to book the breakfast and they have to do it when we get there.

Just how much of a tip are you expected to leave??
15% or more then that????

I am very confused! I thought you are not charged unless:

1) you do not show up.
2) when you arrive if you are not using the dining plan.

We are booked for our upcoming trip, but they just needed our credit card if we do not show up. Why were you charged ahead of time?

If you are using the dining plan & spending 2 credits PP, gratuity & the photo package are included. :) They are included no matter how you pay for it. At least that's what I was told by the CM when I booked it on the Free Dining Plan for our upcoming trip...

Cinderella's Royal Table is a prepaid thing. Same with Hoop De Doo and also the Luau. If you don't have Dining Plan, you pay in full up front. I did this yesterday, my card was charged in full. If you cancel your reservation within the cancellation period there is a full refund.

It's a teeny bit off topic, but you did say that you were debating if it was worth two table service credits...

We did the Princess Storybook Dinner at Akershus in Epcot (Norway) on our recent trip and it's a) only one table service credit per diner b) has a photo package included in the package instead of it being an add-on you can buy and c) you'll see a fair number of princesses there. When you're seated, you first go to a "royal room" where one of the princesses is taking pics with whoever you'd like to send in for that. It's a photopass photographer doing the pics, and you will receive an 8x10 and four 4x6 pictures along with a separate photopass id number you can redeem along with any other photopass ids you might have. Then the princesses come around to the tables and you can take pics and do autographs and stuff.

I was concerned about us finding things to eat on the Norway-inspired menu, but there is also a cold appetizer bar with cheese and salads and stuff, plus the chicken and risotto on the menu was very tasty even to my very limited and unadventurous palate.

And all that for only one TS credit each! I thought it was great, especially since my daughter doesn't have her heart set on eating at the castle specifically. So that's another thing to consider if you're looking for a princess-themed meal but you're not sure you want to use two TS credits each.

Oh! Edited to add: I wanted to put a list of the princesses who were there to give you an idea who you might find at Akershus. This, of course, can vary from time to time as Disney always says, but it should give you a good idea. We had Belle in the photo op in the royal room, then we had Cinderella, Aurora, Snow White, and "human" Ariel who circulated through the dining room when we were there.

Have a good trip!

Well I think that it would be worth 2 credits if we don't have to pay anything extra...so I think we will keep the breakfast.
I really want to eat in the castle....:)

thanks for all the input

tink1953, I was charged for CRT breakfast even though we are on the dining plan. I've read on these boards that there is a glitch in the system that charges some on the DDP. At any rate, I've been told by several CMs that I'll be refunded at the podium the day of the meal and they'll charge my DDP instead.
