First off Congrats...

So where will you be staying? How exciting? Make sure you get the pins and the bride and groom hats.

You will have so much fun...do you have your ADRs done?

Keep it coming~!

First let me share a little bit of background information about me and DF. Neither one of us have been to WDW but feel it will be PERFECT for our honeymoon. We couldn't be happier. :cool1: We will be getting married January 5, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. I am 19 years old and in college studying to be a Medical Lab Technician. My fiance is 21 and works in Law Enforcement. We have been engaged for quite a while now and are planning a beautiful "Winter Wonderland" themed wedding with a Dessert Reception to follow. Our wedding colors are navy blue and silver. I have posted a few pics of things for our wedding for you guys to enjoy!!! I have also posted a picture of us together. Let me just say this in my defense, I've lost weight as has DF since these were taken, so I shall look a little better in my dress ;)

Here's DF and I

We will be leaving for WDW on January 6th and leaving WDW on January 13th. We are so blessed because this will be our first trip to WDW and we'll be able to share it together on such as special occasion as our honeymoon. We will be flying (another blessing because I HATE long drives). We live in SC, but will be flying out from Charlotte, NC at 9:40 A.M. Sunday morning. We have a non-stop flight and are scheduled to land at 11:59 A.M. Flying will be another new experience for both of us. Neither one of us have EVER stepped foot into an airplane. DF is excited beyond words about flying, I however have my reservations.... I am TERRIFIED to say the least, but at least we won't be driving for hours on end... We are also using the Magical Express transportation (keeping fingers crossed... we've heard good and bad and are a tad nervous about that) and are hoping to arrive at our resort within an hour or two or three of arriving at the Orlando Airport. We are on a limited budget - mainly due to our age - so we weren't able to splurge on a Deluxe hotel even though it is our honeymoon. However, having never been to Disney before I'm sure we won't know what we are missing. Plus, the resort we decided on is the nicest we will have ever stayed in. We decided after SCANNING 10000's of REVIEWS FOR HOURS AND HOURS that we would stay at Port Orleans Riverside. We saw tons of pics from this resort and from many reviews it seems this is the "Deluxe" moderate hotel. I've also seen MANY ppl on the Disboards who have honeymooned at POR. We booked through a travel agent and are VERY pleased with her. She made sure we got the exact building we wanted. We will be staying in a river front king room in one of the mansion buildings named Parterre Place. It is the building farthest away from the main buildings so it should be very quiet and peaceful :) We are so excited about staying at POR.

MORE TO COME....

NEXT EPISODE WILL COME VERY SOON

What a beautiful dress...you will make a gorgeous bride...

POR is very nice and beautiful grounds. It is very romantic especially walks at night.

You can take the boat from POR to DTD and back.,..we love to do that...really nice at night.

We will just miss you ...we leave the 5th!

great dress! i tried that one on in white/red, but the white was too white! you should post on the bride boards as well! there are many january 08 brides in there as well (including myself)! we miss you by a week!!! congrats on your engagement and your wedding!

OK, so I have a question -- should i book a carriage ride in advance?? DF and I really really really really really want to do this, but DF HATES to plan in advance - he wants everything to be done on the spur of the moment - we are TOTAL opposites there!!! But, I would be crushed if we get down to WDW and aren't able to go on a carriage ride at POR> Would you guys suggest booking this in advance???

Thanks!!!

Stay tuned popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn::

YAY WE ARE GOING TO WDW

Anyone??? Ressie's for carriage rides....

NEXT EPISODE: ADR'S and AIRPORT/TRANSPORTATION HORRORS....

I'll bite.

Yes, you should reserve the carriage ride in advance.:thumbsup2

However, I have never been on it:sad2:

:scared1: I HAVE NEVER EVEN STEPPED INSIDE OF AN AIRPLANE :scared1:

Needless to say, I am scared silly!!!!! Actually, neither me nor DF have ever been in an airplane. I'm thankful we do not have a long flight..... We will be flying from Charlotte,NC to Orlando. We weren't sure which airlines were the best, when to fly, ect... So we just went with what was the most affordable. We booked a 9:40 am flight with US Airways on 1/6/08 and are due to arrive in Orlando at 11:30 pm. Not tooooo short of a flight, but hopefully my nerves will withstand.... At least it's a non-stop flight - I've heard taking off and landing are the worst parts. I of course also booked return flight(s). We will be leaving Orlando at 8:50 pm on 1/13/08 and this time flying Delta with one stop. We have a 2 hour layover in Atlanta, GA which doesn't put us back at our home airport until the wee hours of the morning. I wanted a late flight though, so I'm ok with that. I booked through Orbitz and feel I got a pretty good deal. All in all, we paid less than $500 for both tickets combined round-trip. I just hope I'm able to sit still on a plane without freaking out toooo bad. We were able to pay a little extra and go ahead and reserve seats. I figured this was a good idea since it was our first time flying and I'm very particular. From the advice I got on the DIS travel board it looked like everyone recommended window, front seats. Soooo I made sure I got us a window and a middle seat, and the closest to the front that I could. Maybe I should just plan to take a sedative.... I'm really nervous :scared:

You will be fine...think of where you are going and what you are celebrating!!! Bring gum or lollipops to chew or suck when taking off and landing.

And try not to be nervous...you will have a blast it will get you ready for the rides!

 We decided to do DDDP - YAY - Deluxe Dining - YAY

I wouldn't say DF and I are 'foodies', but we most definitely love a good meal. We knew all along we wanted to be on the DDP, but didn't much care for the fact that an appetizer wasn't included. So, after much thought we decided to book the DDP (Deluxe). This of course includes an appetizer, drink, entree, and dessert at lunch AND dinner. Since this is our honeymoon, we want to be able to eat at some nice places and enjoy some different kinds of foods. We figured the DDDP would be a great way to experience this. DF also liked the idea that we could pay for everything up front and not really have to worry about sticking to a food budget. We've both heard this is TONS of food and most people leave with unused credits, but we think it is well worth the money. I've done research as to what DF and I would both eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner (only using the restaurants on the DDP). We will spend $130 per day total on food on the DDP and I KNOW we would have spent more if we paid OOP. So, I think this was the perfect way to go!!

NEXT EPISODE: OUR ADR'S

YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMYYYYYYYYYYYY

Your dress is lovely. Sure hope your DF doesn't frequent the DIS. :confused3 ;)

If the carriage ride is a MUST DO, I would pre book if you can. Never done it, so I don't know.

DD and I will be there at the same time for the Marathon Weekend festivities. Do you have bride and groom mickey ears? If you do, we'll keep our eyes open for you. ;)

I just flew for the first time in 19 years this past summer. :scared1: I was nervous, but it was no big deal at all. The only thing I wasn't prepared for was the fact that they needed my DL at security. :confused3 I knew about showing it when I checked in, but didn't realize the security folks needed it too. :headache: The security lady looked at me like I was stupid. :confused3 Well lady, I haven't flown in almost 20 years! :rotfl2: I pass that along to you, so that you will be prepared. :thumbsup2

We flew US AIR to New York, and it was a breeze. You'll be fine!

Keep us posted!

DF is NOT an internet person, and certainly not the type to spend hours on end on the DIS like me ;) So the secret of the dress is safe :thumbsup2

I think I will go ahead and make carriage ride reservations - DF is really looking forward to it.

We'll also DEFINITELY have the bride/groom ears, so keep an eye out!!! I'll have my LGMH also :)

Ok, i know my ADR's are supposed to be coming....but I'm getting bogged down with school work. I did however HAVE to post to let everyone know that I scored Cinderella's Royal Table reservations!! We booked our ADR's exactly 180 days in advance because we had very specific places we just knew we HAD to eat at... However, there were no openings at CRT the ENTIRE time we would be at WDW....I WAS CRUSHED... It was our honeymoon....what's more romantic than dining in a castle??? I mean COME ON.... So i continued to try week after week after week. Well, this morning I called at 7:30am and LOW AND BEHOLD there was a cancellation LAST night for CRT 1/12 at 8:50pm and I SCORED IT!!!! I think i made the CM go deaf when I screamed into the phone!! So, we are dining at CRT on our last night at WDW. What a perfect end to the perfect honeymoon which is the beginning to the perfect marriage and perfect life.

MORE TO COME

I SWEAR ADR's ARE UP NEXT

Did you see a code came out for free park hopping and water parks. I know it isn't much, but at least it is free. Call your agaent and tell her to add it. You never know if you want to hop from one park to another. Plus only Typhoon Lagoon is open, but you might encounter a warm day.

Me and my dh stayed at POR and the building you requested. I highly recommend the place. You can sign up for the carriage ride when you get there. I was there during a really busy season, and we had no problem getting a carriage ride.

Walk over to Port Orleans French Quarters for Baquettes, you can use a snack credit and get 6. They are worth it as a reward for all the weight you are loosing.

I love your wedding dress, it is gorgeous.

Sounds like fun-I love your dress!

As soon as the general code comes our tomorrow my TA is going to call **fingers crossed**

AND NOW....WHAT YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR....OUR ADR'S :cool1:

DF LOVES seafood and I love steak, so there are lots of those!!

Narcoossee's
Citrico's
California Grill
Flying Fish Cafe
Cinderella's Royal Table
Le Cellier
Coral Reef
Yachtsman Steakhouse

Basically we have two steak places, three seafood restaurants, CRT, and the Coral Reef.

DF only wanted to make ADR's for dinner, not breakfast or lunch and I was fine with that. We'll just decide as we go about those two meals.

We are doing the DxDDP, and since most of our dinners are 2 credits per person, we decided to pay OOP for breakfasts or lunches as we see fit. We wanted to do this because romantic dinners are important to us seeing as this is our honeymoon!

What does everyone think??
