I want to plan another disney trip and one place we haven't eaten at is at CRT. Most likely we will be eating OOP and I already know that breakfast is the least expensive, but am wondering which is the "best" meal: breakfast, lunch or dinner? It will just be me and my 10 year old daughter. For those you you you have already eaten there, what do you think we should book?? Thanks.

Honestly, the food there wasn't that good. We ate there for lunch in '09 and the food was pretty yucky. I had the club sandwich and it was ok...not great but ok. The salad was awful (and I really, really wanted/needed a salad at this point in our vacation)--very salty. The kids meals were downright nasty. Chicken nuggets were rubbery (and they only got 4 nuggets) and the chicken soup did not appeal to either of my kids. They ate the grapes.

The dining room was VERY crowded. I couldn't even push out my chair. Every space they could find they wedged in a table.

So, don't go for the food. Go for the princesses.

We will not go back. 1900 Park Fair character meal was a much better experience for us. BUT if we did go back we'd do breakfast. Kind of hard to screw up waffles, kwim?

We haven't been yet, but decided on lunch. Based on the reviews I've read, lunch seems to get better ratings than breakfast and dinner. Maybe the pp had a bad experience, but I've heard others that thought their lunch was good. Just don't expect gourmet food, and I think you'll probably be okay with any of the meals.

I'd pick breakfast, because there's something magical about starting the day in the castle. And it's also the cheapest, you're not really going there for the food, and the characters are the same at every meal.

I would say LUNCH. We have been 2 times at lunch and once at dinner, never done breakfast (seems like alot of $$ for breakfast). Lunch cost a little less and our dinner was disappointing.
The prime rib at dinner wasn't very good quality. At lunch we had the pork tenderloin and it has been good both times. Also, that chocolate buckle dessert is GREAT.
We were a party of 2 and have not felt crowded there. We sat beside the windows 2 times.
1900 is OK but to me it is kinda loud and only has Cindy, no other princesses. Breakfast there cost alot less than at CRT I believe, different characters I think though.

We had a WONDERFUL lunch there on August 4, 2010. We chose lunch because there are so many great places to have a delicious dinner, but fabulous lunch choices are more limited, so we decided to add this on just a few months before our trip. The food was good, the characters were absolutely fabulous, and the atmosphere is unmatched. The princesses were perfect with my 16 year old DD who was celebrating her birthday, and knew just how to "handle" my 13 year old DS. We would go again in a heartbeat, and we thought it was well worth the cost for what we were seeking in a dining experience in the castle. And it served as a nice break from touring in the middle of the hot, crowded day.

Just an FYI, the menu has changed slightly, and they no longer offer the chocolate buckle for dessert. I believe they have a chocolate mousse now, but none of us like that. We ordered the rice pudding, which was seriously the best rice pudding we've ever had, and we didn't miss the buckle at all.

I am working on a dining report (linked in my signature), and will get to our lunch at CRT soon (hopefully).

We do Breakfast there every trip!! I have been really lucky with reservations :)
We do breakfast because it starts our day off on a great note. As far as going for the food well, I would just concentrate on the fact you are in the castle and get to see the Princess. It really is a great experience. Once my Daughter is older we may try Lunch because dining in the castle has become a tradition of ours. And we wont need to see the characters when she is older. She is 9 almost 10 (dec) now and she still enjoys seeing them lol she knows they arent real but still insists on going when they are there. It is maybe a once in a lifetime experience for some and others a tradition we wouldnt break lol. Hope you enjoy the magic as much as we have. We started going there when she was
2 1/2.

The characters are there every meal, now, breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Dh and myself did breakfast and really did enjoy it last year. In March of 2011 we are taking our 4 yo grandaughter to BBB first and then going to have a 10a.m. CRT breakfast. I think my total bill that was charged to my credit card was $128.00. Good luck on your decision....:)

We always ask for the last ADR seating time on a ealry MK entry morning.

Breakfast is the way to go - more characters, less cost and a wonderful view of MK.

Menu:
Pre-Plated, All You Care to Eat Meal Brought to Your Table

Scrambled eggs - we like (minus our DS)
Sausage - we say no, do not place on on plate
Bacon - yum
Potatoes - yum
French toast- yum (DS eats the most)
Peach yogurt - DH & DD like it
Granola - DH likes it - the rest of us are OK with it
Fresh fruit - yum and ask for more
Pastries - nice way to end a 'late lunch " meal
French toast sticks (for younger Guests)

We do the late breakfast seating to be our lunch. :goodvibes

Thank you kind people for all of your replies. I'm now thinking maybe lunch will make more sense. That way we can do rope drop and get on a few rides during that first hour, when crowds are typically lower. Also my DD doesn't eat eggs, and I hate to spend $$$ for her to eat toast :rotfl2:. I'm off to allears.net to check (ok re-check:rotfl:) the menu?

only comment on lunch. We've been three times. Breakfasts often don't work with the way we plan our day. Dinner just recently added the princesses at the meal which is a requirement.

The entree menu hasn't changed very much over the years. Consequently between my wife and me we have had three of the main courses that are offered. The pork tenderloin and salmon are good but we have both settled on Major Domo's Favorite Pie as our favorite. It's not fine dining but it is satisfying.

I have always left sated. But next trip may be our last meal at CRT for awhile as our daughter is getting older.

I have dinner reservations there this coming Sunday. Never eaten there before so we are really looking forward to it.
Not trying to hijack the thread, but can I ask a question? Since you have to pay in full when you reserve, did that payment include the tip or is that left for you to do as you're about to leave? TIA!

payment is taken when you make your ADR.

I am aware that payment is taken when the reservation was made, I have already paid for that. My question was about the tip. Is that included in the payment I have already made???
