Does anyone know if a cross stitch kit (or just the chart only) was ever produced for Cinderella's Castle. I'm an avid cross stitcher and would love to do a picture for my niece who's nearly 5. I asked around at various shops in Disney when I was last there, but no luck.

I've tried eBay but with no success. I've got photos of the castle that I took myself which I could have made into a chart - but I don't know if I'm allowed to do that. I'm sure Disney actually produced a xstitch kit at some point, but I've never been able to find it. Grrr!

Thanks for your help

Yes, they absolutely did! I have it -- got it several years ago and have been sporadically working on it. It's made by the Stoney Creek Collection. I bought it at the Art of Disney store on Main Street in the MK. It was $40.00, and the sku is 400156025504

Don't know if they still sell it, but you might want to call WDW Merchandising .. it's worth a shot!! :)

HTH!!

Thanks so much Amy! I've been looking for this chart/kit for more years than I want to admit to. I'll get on to Disney Merchandising to see if they can help.

You can find the pattern on eBay. I believe that is where my mother bought hers. If you are going to Disney World soon, at teh end of the animation tour there is a store (no duh right?), anyway you can find the kit in there also. At least there were several of them there in January/Febuary of this year. If you cannot find it anywhere else look here:

He currently has five of them and when I ordered something from him before it came to me in mint condition almost instantly. Good luck and happy stitching!

Thanks Czarina!

I'll check out the shop at the end of the tour when I get there. 10 weeks and counting!

The number for WDW Merchandising if you need it is: 407-363-6200 and they're open Mon - Fri 8-ish to 5-ish.

Hope that helps as well.

Thanks for your help. I phoned to check if they had the kit in stock - they do. However, air mail charges are prohibitive to the UK (almost as much as the item itself) so I'll wait until I get there.

Thanks everyone for responding - looks like the Castle and Tinkerbell will decorate my niece's room on her next birthday!

Enjoy the project KathAnn! I have 95% of the castle itself done, but I had to move onto a different project in my rotation. Its quite a large piece so I'll probably come back to it and try to finish more a little at a time.

The Art of Disney store in Downtown Disney has a few of the completed cross stitch projects on display, so be sure to stop by there to check them all out. ::yes:: The other four projects on sale there are really nice as well.

I am currently working on Self Portrait and have the Thanksgiving picture to do. But a friend of mine who works at Disney and also Cross Stitches tells me there is a Mickey Cross Stitch Kit that they just got in with an American Flag background. Can't wait to see what it looks like on our upcoming trip.

Oh nooooo!!! I collect Mickey Americana things ... now I really have to get the Castle done so I can pick this one up! ;)

Thank you for that link!! I definitely need that Mickey, and the Tink is adorable, too. :)

I have done the Castle on a blue sweater and am working on the Self Portrait on a grey sweater now. I use 22 waste canvas when I do cross stitch on clothing. The Castle came out great. I took Tink off because she was too large for the castle and I didn't like the porportions. I just had to do a little changing of the pattern by putting a few brick colors where Tink's sparkles should be.
The Self Portrait will take forever. Mickey's pants alone are more than 5 different colors of red.
I would gladly send a copy of the pattern to anyone who needs it. I am not sure if this is a copyright infringement, but I always make a few copies of the patterns because I carry my work with me back and forth and the original never makes it through the time it takes me to finish the work.
I would love if someone has the Saluting Mickey pattern and would trade one of mine for that one. Peggie
