OK, I know this a big demand breakfast, and I know there is a lot of interest in it, so I am going to write what happened, and I'm doing it just in the spirit of passing along the information and giving encouragement to others.
We've never really been interested in cinderella's breakfast. My wife Melissa and I and my mother in law and aunt had dinner at the castle a few years ago, so we had seen in there, and so it wasn't a big thing for us. We have a toddler boy. So we had never caught the fever.
So we are going to wdw the coming holidays. We actually have two reservations, Dec. 23-Jan 1 at OKW, then on new years we move to wilderness lodge villas for a week. That second week, our family is joined by a couple from here who are good friends of ours and also have dvc and also staying at wilderness lodge. They have a daughter who will be just under two years old that week.
So I talked to them tonight and asked them to think about where they'd like to eat, because we were thinking that we should make some reservations sometime around now. She mentioned that they were thinking about taking Katherine to cinderella's breakfast. OK, I thought, I've read about this challenge, and we'll jump in to help. I said, OK, start calling tomorrow morning and we'll call too. You know what, if anybody gets through, we'll try to get a table for the whole group (it will be seven adults and the two toddlers), but if we can't get that, we'll try to get it for three so at least you two can take Katherine. OK, sounds like a plan.
So I wasn't sure about the whole 90 day thing and which day we'd be calling for. So at 7:30 tonight I figured I'd call wdw-dine and ask them what day we'd be calling for tomorrow morning, what time they opened for calls, did we have to call a different number for 9 people, etc. So I tell the wonderful reservation person what days we are staying and asked her what day we'd be calling for. She said, well, you could book any day until Jan. 15. Oh, no, I thought. If we can book until the 15th we are doomed, because we are checking out on the 8th. Hang on a second, she said, let me see if I can find something. OK, I said.
Guess what. Table for 9, Thursday Jan. 5 at 8:50 am. Wow, I never thought I'd get excited about a reservation, but I'll admit I was pretty amazed. The CM was so great, I think she was amazed, too. So, again, I don't know all the details of how the system works, but if you are really trying hard for that reservation and you don't get it first thing in the morning, don't give up. It couldn't hurt to give it another shot. It may just be a really slow week, but I don't know. But anyway here is an example of getting one later in the evening.
Now I think I'm going to go look at Deb Will's site and see what we are having for breakfast and how much it costs. She took my credit card and said it was $10 per person deposit, but I didn't think to ask about the cost!
