Just curious about Cinderellabration...is it as good as Cinderella's Surprise Celebration (or whatever it was called :teeth: )?? I loved that show, but during our March trip I will be traveling with my 12 year-old nephew. I can't imagine that I will be able to convince him to wait around for a decent view of a show that only has princesses in it. From what I have seen this show does not include any other characters besides the Princesses and Princes. Am I correct? Any details regarding this show would be appreciated! Thanks in advance..... :earsgirl:

It is all princesses and princes, plus the King and Fairy Godmother. My daughters 6 and 3 were enthralled, but a 12 year old boy will probably not be excited. Still a nice show, he might enjoy it some.

We watched it on our first day at MK on our last trip. After it was done DD8 promptly informed us that it was the "lamest" show she had ever seen. Keep in mind that she loved CSC. IMO, she was absolutely right. No real story line, just alot of dancing and singing.

We didnt watch it again during our whole trip.

Cinderellabration is IMO a very different show from CSC- not bad, but different. CSC was much more of a peppy and action-packed, while Cinderellabration is more lavish and elegant. I really enjoy both (but, admittedly prefer CSC), but I'm going to guess it won't be a hit with your nephew.

Cinderellabration shows how nice it is to be a princess and that it is the dream of every little girl :) me (18) and my DG (also 18) enjoyed the singing and dancing (especially DG since she is real romantic :)) but its no big thrill or so...it was quite nice to watch though.

That was my fear...that there was no real story line....CBC was so fun and we loved all the different characters that were in it. I guess we will skip Cinderellabration. It is a shame they got rid of CBC completely. I loved it, but at least I recorded the complete show on our videocamera....I'll be able to enjoy it for years. ;)

then go on and upload it somewhere ! :)

well cinderellabration is no big waste of time so why don't stop by when its on and watch some of it..its real nice and if u're fed up just walk away, its as simple as that.

Our family thinks Cinderellabration is great. The costumes are beautiful and so are the Princesses. My dd is 16 and loves it!

I LOVE Cinderellabration. It's a nice show. It's not the same as CSC, but it's good in it's own way.

That about sums it up.
But, its ONLY the costumes and princesses.

No story line. None.
No drama.
No villains.
No heroes.
No Disney characters (like Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, Chip, Dale.)
No Disney songs.
Just a few dance steps, and then each princess and "her prince" are... INTRODUCED.

That's right, it is the BEGINNING of a show, WITHOUT the show.

Speaking as a producer of shows and a "connoisseur" of (traditionally) GREAT Disney shows, this one ranks as an ANTI-show.
Ship it back to Tokyo.

It can't really be compared with Toyko's show. For one thing, Tokyo's stage is twice as big as ours, so it is going to be bigger. For another thing, in Tokyo it is performed once a night, as ours is performed a minimum of about 5-6 times. The show there is like our Fantasmic here. That's how big it is out in Tokyo. So I don't think it's possible to cram all of that into a 18-minute show. We just don't have the room here. But I think it is fine. It might not have the plot of CSC, but it is nice and there are always plenty of people watching it.

And so, that's supposed to make me feel BETTER... that WDW is staging a WEAK COPY of a BETTER original show that's done with style elsewhere?

Where's the Disney Quality in that?

(Besides, I'M not the one comparing it to the Tokyo show... Disney PROMOTION is!)

Well, no big surprise THERE. People don't know there's so little show being presented until its over... and that's ALL THERE IS.

There is no excuse for this kind of "bad show" as Walt would say... especially with ALL the international ADVERTISING (hype).
That's called "Over-promising and under-delivering"... something Walt was always trying to prevent at his park.
Very sad.

Excuse me, Cinderellabration is NOT a "bad show" just because YOU think it is. I know a lot of people who enjoy the show. In fact, I happen to be friends with a lot of people IN the show and they are some of the nicest people you could ever meet. There is nothing bad about having a show just about princesses. Mickey does not have to be in every Disney show to make it a good show. CSC was a good show- I'll admit that. But so is Cinderellabration.

After all the hoopla over Cinderellabration I couldn't wait to see it, as I have always enjoyed the old show with the characters in it and Cinderella. Even My teen boys would watch the old show, this show however? They didn't want to watch past the first few minutes. I have to admit, at almost every Disney show I have seen in the parks, and don't laugh! I get a giddy or happy feeling at the end..sometimes such as Wishes I get a few goosebumps. I even like the princess stories and shows but this one did absolutely nothing for me. At the end I felt like I had missed something or that it just lacked something. Just my opinion, as long as that show runs, it's one less thing I plan to see and I will spend my time watching something a bit more interesting. As a previous poster wrote, watch a few minutes, if you don't like it, walk on......Have fun, either way!

"Bad Show" is a term Walt Disney used to refer to anything that was at the parks that was not up to the HIGHEST standards of quality and abilities of his cast.

My use of it (in quotes) was to that exact reason (YOUR reason, from YOUR post) that THIS Cinderellabration (at WDW) was NOT up to the quality of its origin and that WDW had used HYPE to promote it as "something special" brought to WDW from Disney Parks around the world just for this 50th Anniversary.

Anyone can choose to "like" it.
It is still sub-par for a Disney show.
It lacks "heart", story, on-stage singing talent, and most production values compared to virtually EVERY other show at WDW.

This is not just a "ranting" opinion.
It is a quantitative judgment based on years of experience and observation.

Name another stage show at WDW with so little to offer in production value.

Heck, Merlin's "Sword in the Stone" has live audience interaction, story, jokes, a good character actor who SPEAKS LINES... its a SHOW.
