Can someone tell me what this is, where you get it, The Castle dinner? Is it on the menu? Do you ask for it at the begining of the meal?

I saw someone mentioned it once and I don't know why it is special, other than it's Disney and everything is special.

I can kind of help.. I had it last September. For the celebration, they are serving it as a dessert in CRT .. at least they are for dinner. I don't remember the cost but I want to say $8 or $9... it was included in the dining plan as the dessert.
It is a white chocolate slipper with chocolate mousse inside. There were blueberries and strawberries with mine and it sat on a pound cake drizzled with chocolate...the plate had a raspberry sauce on it... I've seen other variations but this was the one I got... it was DELICIOUS!!! I believe you can special order it from the bakeries to have at most restaurants but someone else probably knows the answer to that better than I.

I was told when making my reservation (for Nov 2005)months earlier that the dessert was on the menu - I got there and it was not listed, I asked my waiter (Sa'aid - great guy and perfect waiter) and he told me that they the Slipper dessert had to be a special request. I would doublecheck when making the reservation if you are planning on getting this.

You can get it at any restaurant in the Grand Floridian or at CRT, but those are the only places it is available because they are made at the GF bakery. You must call the restaurant and order the dessert at least 48 hours in advance. If you have any other questions, just do a search on this board for "slipper" and lots of posts will come up about it. :)

It's a special order at the GF through their bakery. You can arrange to have it at any of their restaurants or if you are staying there, room service. It's $14. Its NOT covered under the dining plan. They need at least 48 hours notice.

Here's the one from the GF:

The one shown above at the CRT WAS available briefly on their menu but taken off last year. It's no longer covered under the dining plan and is a special order. It was $10.50 but could be $14 now like GF. I'm not sure. Again they need 48 hours notice.
