I want to order the Cinderella glass slipper dessert for our lunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe in late July. Would they take an order for that add on now or do I need to wait until closer to our trip date? Also, will the waiter know we have ordered that by a note on our reservation or do I need to mention it when we are seated? I was hoping to not have to mention it as it is a surprise. Thanks.

I ordered a glass slipper dessert for my niece years ago....I called way ahead and they attached the order to our CM ADR. I would order well in advance and then call close to travel time to double check. That's just the way I am. I really don't remember if I nudged anyone during check in or during the meal to look for the dessert. To avoid worrying, I suggest being prepared to slip CM a note or find a way to get away from the table to talk to a CM.
(Just in case you haven't....check out the cake chatter thread pinned at the top of the forum....it has the lists of locations, cakes, and numbers to call.)

I ordered the Chocolate Crown (counterpart to Glass Slipper) for our dinner at CRT a few years ago. At that time, there was a special number you called and left a message with what you wanted, your confirmation number and e-mail address and they sent you a confirmation via e-mail and attached it to your ADR. I think as soon as you have a confirmation number you can book it, and I think it has to be done at least 72 hours in advance. When we were seated our server mentioned something about having something for us in the back which went over my son’s head (it was his birthday trip) but I knew exactly what she was talking about,

Thanks. I hope they give a little clue that they know about it so I don't have to worry! It's a special occasion!!

I got one for my princess on her 9th birthday ten years ago. I just ordered one to surprise her on our visit next week for high school graduation. Can’t wait! So glad they still offer this.

That is a great idea and a great graduation trip.
