Just curious......does anyone know how Disney World is utilizing this suite at the present time? Are they still choosing families (already on property) at random to stay a night for free? I have read Disney computers choose a time and place (like a particular ride) and surprise the person by actually coming to them to let them know they've been chosen to stay in the suite. Is this still happening?

If I remember correctly the suite can't be booked. I'd loved to be picked to stay there! That would be awesome!

They haven't done that for over a year now. It pretty much sits unused most of the year. What a waste.

At this point the suite is pretty much just used for the occasional VIP, as well as corporate giveaways. I think a recent Southwest contest to WDW had a night stay in the suite as part of the prize. But the days of being selected for a prize while in park are over with the exception of magical moments. (Being selected to drive your ride vehicle, lead the parade, etc)

They gave it away to random guests during the YEAR of a Million Dreams Promotion that ran from Oct 2006 thru Dec 31 ,2008.They no longer give it away to random guests.Disney also says it is NOT available for booking.It is used for contests and giveaways and occasional VIPS

I haven't checked for this month. Over about the past year now that I know off, they have had a monthly drawing on the hub (Disney CM internal site) for 1 lucky CM and a couple guests to spend the night there.

Actually ... it's used pretty regularly. They put Make-A-Wish kids in there quite often, and they do monthly drawings for CMs to win nights there. It's used for corporate clients and VIPs and also as a place for other special guests (Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is a frequent "client"). I don't know that it's used nightly, but it's got a pretty good occupancy rate.

Delta Airlines just had a contest and the prize was a night in the suite and 3 days at WDW. Sadly we did not win.

My cousin is staying there right now actually, he won a trip with two nights in the suite. I'm not sure how he won it though!

Went that year and loved that promotion. Our fami was in line for Aladdins magic carpets and a team of CM's came and gave us all mickey ears - not a huge prize but very cool - the kids loved it.

We were there that year too. Loved it! Our family received the special fast passes upon entering MK. That was definitely Disney's best promotion!

man I LOVED " Year of a Million Dreams" how much fun. BBBUTT leave it to people to ruin it. I was told by a CM that once the crowds figured out what they wore etc. They would chase them, follow them, etc. People would get mad REALLY mad when they where in the line and ran out of prizes etc. He said they all got tired of it , because people became hatefull and many ruined it with the attuides. Some people had no clue when they got something and just didnt care, that bothered him to. Sad SAD.

Me I loved it, we where dreamed in line at Soarin. We got the ears!!!
