Just a bit to add to part 1 because on my way home form school this morning I was walking through the park, and looking at the ducks on the river reminded me of the ducks we saw swimming on the outside part of It's a Small World and that then reminded me of our 1st day when we could hear the magical tick tocking from the clock but we didn't know where it was coming from. Then it got louder and louder until we were there and just as we arrrived all the figures came out along the little balcony bit because it was just the right time and we stood and watched transfixed even tho' the Disney parade had just finished and lots of people were pouring into the queue in front of us. And I want to be back there now so much!!!!
Anyway, to continue from where I got to, happily reunited with DD we set off to Discoveryland because DSs had done the questionnaire in the Eurostar activity pack which had revealed this as their favourite land. We started off with Honey I Shrunk the Audience which I'm sure would have been better if I'd understood wexactly what was going on. Unfortunately I'd taken my headphones off to see what was the matter with DS 1's because he was complaining that his weren't working properly. They were working, but in German and when I put mine back on they had switched from english to german as well so I sat wondering whether there had been certain rows that we should have sat in and that whether I'd failed to notice that we were in a german row and fiddled about trying to see if there was a language setting I could change but to no avail. DS 2 and DD's had the English version I discovered afterwards so don't know what happened there.
We then went to Orbitron which I thought would be a nice substitute for dumbo which had had enormous queues and the children would enjoy making their rockets go up and down. I'm not at all keen on heights but it didn't look too high from where we were standing and I didn't really like the idea of the 3 of them all in the one craft, fighting over who was going to take control while I stood and watched from the ground. it was a fairly long queue for this too as it turned out but we got to the front in the end. My heart sank when I saw the rather inadequate seat belt which was supposed to restrain my DSs but trying not to worry joined DD in the rocket behind. Then we were off and I have never been so scared in my life (except when I'd lost DD in the carnival earlier!) It was so fast and seemed so much higher. I just kept repeating "I don't like it, I don't like it" over and over again and I didn't dare shut my eyes because I could see DS 1 slowly sliding out of view at the back of the rocket in front so he obviously didn't like it either and I was worried about him as well as me. At least DD obligingly kept the rocket on it's lowest level but it couldn't end soon enough for me.
From there we walked to Nautilus but it had already shut for the night so vowing not to return again unless we had time for the Lion King, with the boys insisting that the questionnaire results must have been wrong, we made our way back to FantasyLand. There was a small queue for Peter Pan so we joined that and as amazing as everything had been before, that 1st ride as we sailed out of the nursery and over London, through the stars was my magical defining moment and one that I will never forget. I had tears in my eyes again, but this time for joy!
It was getting close to closing time now and 3 of us wanted to ride on the carousel again now that it was lit up. one needed the toilet badly! I pleaded with him to try and hold on because I knew that by the time we'd found the toilets we wouldn't have time to come back for a ride, but a tantrum was brewing and we had to walk away. As we left the park Micky Mouse was standing at the station waving and wishing everyone goodnight which I again found really emotional and I forgot all about the carousel. It might sound funny to you seasoned pro's but I was so taken aback that he sounded just like Micky Mouse - so it must have been him!
We queued outside Annettes for our dinner which was well worth it. I'm a veggie and their green piece veggie burger was delicious. The children loved their dinner in the frisbee which I hadn't told them about so it was a big suprise, and they all ate everything which makes a change. After the main course I had to take DD to the toilet, giving DSs strict instructions to stay seated and not fall over the edge of the balcony which we were sitting by. Came back to find DS2 cowering under the table whilst a clown/jester with an enormous false nose babbled away in French to DS1. It was very funny but once he realised we were English he moved off to another table of French speakers.
Stopped off at the Disney Store enroute to the hotel to see what we might buy as souvenirs. So much choice but we only got an autograph book tonight. Then when we got back to the hotel we discovered that Micky and Minnie were doing a Meet n Greet in the hotel the next morning so were pleased with our purchase.
