I seem to recall they recently dropped the characters, anyone know for sure?

I'd like to know whether or not this is the case. My wife and I are searching for a buffet that ISN'T a character affair and ISN'T Boma. We're sorta coming up empty.

I think Cape May Cafe has a buffet dinner and it's not character.

And as much as I wanted to go there (as I like seafood tremendously), that particular one was a tough sale to my wife. There didn't seem to be many non-seafood choices, thus making it far less of a buffet for her. Thanks for the try, though!

Thank you, I'm checkin' for a friend of mine who's at Disney right now.

Yup I have a 1900 PF review in my Jan link, great for the characters but not so much for the grub....I read my old reviews alot too because I cannot remember what we like and do not like ha ha!

What about trying Ohana for dinner or the Hoop De Doo Musical Revue (it is food delivered to your table chicken, ribs, mashed potatoes, veggies, corn bread and salad then for dessert Strawberry shortcake) unlimited beer/wine/soft drinks/tea or coffee. We did the Hoop last year with two kids and the food was great and the entertainment was fab as well. We are thinking of doing the Ohana dinner this year (not the spirit of Aloha) just the reg dinner and from what I have read it too is food that is brought to your table served family style.

Tusker House dinner in AK is not characters, and is mostly "usual" Disney buffet dishes like you would find at the character buffets like Chef Mickeys or Crystal Palace. There are a few slightly exotic choices, especially in the salad/veggie area but mostly traditional buffet offerings. We enjoyed it last year.

Hollywood & Vine dinner in DHS is not characters, either. Some people give this place a very bad review, but we found the food to be good. It's very busy & somewhat noisy (as most Disney buffets are) but we would go back there.

Biergarten at Epcot is not characters, but does have the live German oompah band that is quite entertaining. And a wonderful selection of beers, of course. There are many German food choices, but we also thought there were plenty of non-ethnic food choices too.
