Cilantro ?

I remember it being in something my sister's mother in law ordered at Jiko the day before her wedding and dear old M-i-L complaining about it all night but it was 7 years ago and the menu has probably changed drastically.

I didn't realize there was such a hatred toward cilantro. I love the taste and smell of the stuff personally. I've even told DW I wished Yankee Candle would incorporate it into one of their scents lol.

We are in the same boat....I think it tastes like someone mowed their lawn and served it up with a sauce of dish soap. DH, however, gets serious gastro issues if he eats it. We consider that similar to a food allergy and treat it as such, noting it on all our ADRs.

There have been a few studies that have linked it to genetics rather than just a general food aversion so I think that's why people are more vocal about disliking it.

Because, DH will suffer silently, pick at the edges, and 'decide' he's not as hungry as he thought. Then we'll be stopping for something to stop the rumbly in his tummy later.

He needs to take ownership of the issue. Doesn't matter if it's a genetic predisposition or just a personal dislike. It's within his control to investigate and ask questions.
