My husband is wondering if there are any good cigar shops on St. Martin or on St. Thomas.

If what he's really wondering is "will he be able to buy some Cubanos" on his cruise, then yes, he will have ample opportunity to buy them at St Maarten, but not at St Thomas (United States Virgin Islands). The downtown shopping area of Philipsburg at St Maarten will have lots of shops with "Cuban Cigars" prominently displayed in their windows.

Be sure to pick up some Royal Barbados cigars while you're in St. Thomas. If you go to the shopping expert's talk, she'll give you this hint (and if you go visit her at the Shore Excursion desk and ask about these, she may even give you one to sample!!!). Here is a loophole for bringing Cuban cigars back into the US--and it's completely legal!! If you are wanting to buy some Cuban cigars and take them back home, get these. They are made with Cuban tobacco but are rolled in Barbados--hence the loophole. You can find them at a little store in St. Thomas called Captain's Corner. This will be listed in your shopping guide, but there are two different locations in Downtown Charlotte Amalie. However, the location with the large humidor with the Royal Barbados cigars is the 11a location (that's what it will be on your map). It is at the intersection of Main Street and Raadet's Gade. You can buy them individually for around $5 or in packages which range between $22-30 (depending on the size you get). My dad bought a package and said they were quite mild so if you aren't a big cigar smoker, or don't want anything too strong, these would be perfect.

Hope this helps!
