Cici's Pizza

The few times we go to Cicis, we don't tip. We are doing all the work there.
We tip generously at good sit dowwn restaurants where a server does everything for us. We also tip at Golden Corral type places as drinks are refilled and rolls are brought, etc.

The person clearing the tables at Cicis is doing no more than the person wiping off the tables after they are used at McDonalds.

I've been at a couple of different ones around Indy and I've never seen anyone tip by leaving $$ on the table or even a jar for a tip.

We always leave a $3-5 tip when we go to Cici's Pizza. They usually do a great job of clearing the table while we are there and always ask the kids if they need anything. If they do, they will run and get it for them even when we tell them it isn't necessary.

For me, it depends on the 'quality of service' EVERYWHERE I go, whether it be a cici's or a nice sit down restaurant. I was raised to beilieve that people shouldn't get money for doing a crappy job-

if they keep the table we're at clean, I'll leave $4 ($1 per person in our family)...if they don't come to our table to clean off our plates at all- I won't leave much- maybe $1. There was one time that it wasn't very busy there and the guy who was bussing tables was sitting at another table talking to people (his friends maybe)...it made my husband and I mad, because our table was so full of dirty dishes that we had to clear off our own dishes..then when we were leaving- got our jackets on and started walking for the door, the guy who was bussing made a very rude remark "Thanks for the great tip"...Well, he didn't do anything to earn it! We didn't leave anything. I wish I would hae left a quarter because that's about what he deserved.

I am very traditional- the tip amount we give depends on the service we receive- we do try to do 15% at all sit down places- but even some of those servers don't deserve it because of poor service (we don't expect perfect service if it's busy, I was a waitress through college, so I know how things go...) there have been times where we've just given a 5% tip or so, because of such crappy service- but it's sad that people expect at least 15% even when they don't do ANYTHING!!!

No, I've never even thought of it. Maybe I should?
You - everyone on this thread - should do whatever you feel comfortable doing.

They closed all the ones around here, but have the nerve to show the commercials.
Nothing can be done about that. Those are national commercials; the business purchases airtime directly from the network, not from your local stations.

Heck, we saw Sonic commercials around here for YEARS before there ever was one; we see Cici's and Papa John's all the time, but there are none locally. Red Lobster? Ha! We may have had one of the first ones, but it closed too many years ago for me to even remember. No Olive Garden or Ruby Tuesday's within reasonable distance - but we still see commmercials for ALL these restaurants.

I've never seen anyone tip, money on a table, or a tip jar at ours... ever. :confused3

i normally leave like $1.00 person too, but man i try not to go in there the cheessy bread makes my butt bigger bad bad bad :rotfl2:
