The first one does look better . It's more ethereal and looks almost like it's floating.

I like the second one, but I def. like the first one better!! :thumbsup2

I love looking at your pictures, they're always awesome. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you guys!

I tried making the second one looks more like the first but I failed miserably. The original picture wasn't framed and exposed for the effect of the 1st one and I'm not good in using Photoshop.

The thing is I always play around in my head regarding what effect I want to add later using Photoshop and I take my pictures accordingly. Sometimes, by looking at certain (other people's) pictures, I know what can be done to make it different (this is highly subjective, of course).

Amazeing Picture Kelly :thumbsup2
Now first I have to learn how to use a D-SLR and then I need to learn how to use Photoshop.
Lucky for me my son is doing A Level Photography next year and can help me out ;)

It is a very sad picture.
no people, no background.

It works well to easily create that mood.

It is a place of gathering, with no gathering. It just seems lonely.

But I like the shot.

Gorgeous pics as always!

Borrowed my dad's fuji dSLR while my panasonic P&S was out of commission (*ahem* dropped it in a pond while taking a pic). Conversation after i returned it and he saw the pictures:

dad "those pictures are fantastic"
me "they did come out pretty well"
dad "how did you get the camera to do that?!?!"
me "took it out of 'auto' mode and actually used it like it's supposed to be used"
dad *shuffles feet embarassingly*

Can I ask where this is? Your pictures are great, but this church is beautiful. Have you been inside? I would love to see it!!

The church is in Markham area, about 20 minutes drive (via highway) from downtown Toronto. If you're familiar with Toronto, take DVP north (which then changed into highway 404) and exit at Major Mackenzie. Go east by 2 blocks, then go north on Woodbine Avenue by one block, and there it is.

It's the only privately-owned church in Canada. The owner built it as a thank-you to the Lord for his success in business. Alas he passed away before the completion of the church so the inside of the church is only partially done.

It's only open to public during the service so there is no way I can take the pictures of the inside.

Currently I'm trying to make an entire portfolio of pictures of this church and try to find who actually takes care of it and donate the pictures to them so they can sell them as posters/postcards, whatever and they keep all the money to maintain (or finish building the inside of the) church.
