Chunkymonkey and Chubbyhubby Stuff Themselves Silly! THE END..on to the next TR!

All caught up. A belated happy birthday from me, too! Sounds like the plans for your trip are coming along nicely!

Have fun playing with your new cameras!

Super belated Birthday wishes from me!!!

Dinosaur BBQ sounds GREAT!!! Andrew and I LOVE that kind of stuff. I'll have to put it on my list of places to eat when I go to NYC. Which could be this August!

What does Red Velvet cake taste like? I've been hearing a lot about it, but still haven't tried it.

Oooh, I love those princess polaroids! So cute!

Happy Birthday!

We're the same age...I turn thirty-five on March 19. I'm not sure why, but turning 35 is freaking me out in way that turning 30 didn't. :confused3: I love Magnolia bakery. I'm sure your cake was fantastic. Looks like you had a fantastic weekend.

Your pictures are lovely, as always. Cool new cameras. I was just thinking about taking Polaroids the other day. Funny. There are certain situations when they were just the coolest thing to have.

Your plans sound great. I can now say, having been there recently, that we LOVED 'Ohana. It was so good! And so much fun. Definitely a must do for our future trips.

POFQ is looking much more attractive to me, now that they've redone the rooms. I can't wait to see your pictures of them when you get back. And taking the boat to DTD sounds lovely!

Happy belated Birthday! The food you had on your bday looks amazing!

I love the instant camera. DD has been wanting something. I think that might be just the item for her... especially with the disney princess film. :goodvibes

:cheer2:Happy Birthday:cheer2:

I am glad that you had a fun birthday and you got presents that you really enjoyed.

Thank you!! I appreciate it!

Happy Birthday, a day late! I missed the memo apparently ;) Looks like you had a great birthday weekend! The place you went for brunch sounds really yummy! I love "different" restaurants like that, not so chainy - hard to find that around here.

Red-velvet cake! Yum! I've heard of magnolia bakery from all my gossip magazines - I believe Katie Holmes used to stop there a lot  I've made the Sprinkles red velvet cake and cream cheese frosting from Williams-Sonoma and its pretty good!

I can't believe our trip is coming up so soon! (I say "our" only because we are arriving the same day!). It can't come soon enough for me! Looking forward to more of your TR and any pre-trip planning! Are you planning on doing a trip report for your sister trip?

Thank you!! Yup had a fabulous weekend! I believe Katie Holmes likes Billy's Bakery. They are all good IMO. Magnolia is just the closest to me so I go there the most ;)

YAY! I can't believe it's so soon! I still fee I have a lot to prep for, especially sinec I'll be going with Disney "newbies" - I will probably do a TR just because it will help me prolong the magic from our trip. I don't know when my bext trip after that is!

Happy belated Birthday!!! :wizard: Sounds like you had an awesome weekend!!!

Thank you Tracy!!!

Happy Late Bday! I have heard great things about Dinosaur BBQ, I must check them out eventually!

Thank you Kat! Dinosaur BBQ is the best BBQ in NYC. We love it!

Happy belated birthday! :goodvibes Sounds like you had a fun birthday weekend. Oooh Magnolia, I've had my birthday cake from them once, it was so good. I've never tried their red velvet though. how is it?

Thank you! Yes the red velvet and vanilla cake flavors are my favorite. Their red velvet is sooo good. It's the first red velvet I've had. It's super moist and delicious. Yum.

Even though I haven't been keeping up to date with your TR, it's exciting for me now because I can read a bunch in succession!

Ooo, I love the souvenirs that you got! The Vinylmation notebook is a cute way to get a TON of Vinylmation images in one souvenir! I like the Pook-a-Looz notebook because it's like having all of them in one souvenir! Not that I bought it, haha.

YAY, we're in your trip month since it's now March! How exciting. I really wish I could go at any time and not have to deal with going during school breaks.

Just some info about Le Cellier ... it's going to be a Signature Dining restaurant when you go, I believe. That means it'll be 2 credits for each of you. Our server told us that they're changing the entire menu and that the only 2 things that are staying are the cheese soup and the filet (and even the filet will have changes).

Love Chunkysis's homemade cards! I make greeting cards too. I always have, but I recently bought a Cricut machine, so that is my new hobby on top of everything Disney-related!

What an awesome victory dance! I wanted to try the video game thing too, but we actually didn't spend much time in Innoventions this trip. I was a little disappointed in that, but there's always next year!

Curious to know what you thought about the spicy tuna rolls! How do they compare to "real" spicy tuna rolls at sushi places?

Happy belated birthday!!! Looks like you had a ton of yummy food! Have you ever taken sushi pics with your big camera? I'm curious to know what shots you've gotten! Howard and I love going to have sushi even though we've cut back a LOT over the past 6 months or so.

Thanks Rachel! I think we're going to skip Le Cellier this year...I can't get a ressie for lunch and also didn't want to spend the 2 TS for dinner.

The sushi at Yakitori house is not good. But considering I hadn't had sushi for a few days, it was passable, probably because I wanted sushi so much. I haven't tried Tokyo dining though. But I am not sure how good it will be.

Hmm, I am not sure if I have sushi pics with my dslr or not. I will try one day and let you know how they come out! :cutie:

All caught up. A belated happy birthday from me, too! Sounds like the plans for your trip are coming along nicely!

Thanks Dee! I sure will have a lot of fun with the cameras!

Hi Yuki! Good to hear from you! Thank you! Dinosaur BBQ is great, especially if you like BBQ.

Red velvet cake is supposed to be a hybrid chocolate/vanilla. But I think it just tastes...GOOOD. LOL. It's very moist and cake-y. I can't describe it. It's just so yummy.

Happy Birthday!

Thanks Tina! And happy early B-day to you! It's coming up shortly! Any big plans?

I'm excited you liked Ohana! I am looking forward to it! and I too and excited about the refurbishments at POFQ!

I love the instant camera. DD has been wanting something. I think that might be just the item for her... especially with the disney princess film. :goodvibes

Thanks Ann! The Instax Mini is a great camera. Is this for Kira or Zoe? I think they both will like the camera!!

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone! It sure makes turning 35 a little sweeter. :lmao:

Does anyone know how to put in a room request with Disney? Do I call up the US Resort hotline and ask them or is there a specific procedure that I do to fax it in directly with POFQ? Just wanted to request a refurbished room ;)

It would be for Zoe. I know she is only 6, but she wants to always use my camera. I was thinking of getting her something so she would have "her own"

I think you can do it just by calling the main reservation number. (407 WDISNEY) Then they can add it to your reservation. :goodvibes

I think you can just fax in room requests.

Um...the resort boards should be able to help you with that. They should have the numbers you need to dial and what you should have on the fax.

All caught up - I just started reading your TR last week when I was sick. My DH is glad that I did, because yesterday you inspired me to change our OOP breakfast from Tusker House to Kona and he is super excited about eating Tonga Toast again! I cannot wait to read your March TR, that should keep me busy until we leave on May 19th for our next trip!

I think Zoe will love it! It's very easy to use, and it instant gratification is great! They also sell Mickey and Minnie film too which is cute.

Cool, thanks will try calling first and then faxing if that doesn't work.

Cool! Glad to have you on board! I soooo wanted a Tusker House breakfast - but I can't get an ADR for it! I think we may go to Kona on our last day...just for Tonga Toast!

Regarding room requests- over on the Beach Club thread, we have been advised by a CM who works there that the best thing to do is make sure the request is on your reservation (as others suggested, call the Central Reservation Office).

Do not do the online advance checkin- go to the regular checkin line and ask whether the room assigned to you meets your request (refurbished). If not, ask if there is a room available that would satisfy you. The checkin CMs will do their best to accomodate your wishes if there is something available.

Oh thanks, great advice! I will call today and double check we have ourselves down for a refurbished room! And that's a good tip about not doing the online check in just in case we dont' get a room we want!

I just catched up with the last few pages of your TR and your Mexico pictures look fantastic! Unlike you, I barely took any pictures of ourselves in Mexico since we spent so much time photographing the wedding. I do have 1 pictures which I might post because I was wearing my Mickey sandals and I thought they were cute. :)
I'm also super jealous you guys are going to Universal. I may have to convince DH to go there later this year. :cutie:

Our sisters trip is only...

9 days away!!

Woohoo!

I've made a few changes to the plan, including making a backup ressie for 'Ohana in case we don't make it the first time (we may be watching Fantasmic! that night) and also I've included a breakfast at Crystal Palace.

Will be posting Day 6 Part 1 of my TR sometime tonight - hopefully I can finish the last day of my TR before going on our trip! It would be nice to then come back and start a brand new TR!

On a sadder note, obviously you all know about the devastation in Japan. I actually lived in Tokyo when I was younger for 3 years, and I still have many friends there, so it's a very sad time. I also coincidentaly work for a Japanese company right now and we've been advised that our colleagues in Japan may be offline for a while due to the rolling blackouts. For the most part though, it is business as usual. I am keeping Japan in my thoughts and prayers as is the rest of the world.

Are all of your friends ok?
My best friend is from Japan & it was scary for the 1st two days because she could not get in touch with her grandmother & cousins. Finally, they were able to get in touch with each other.
Japan has definitely been in my prayers.

Wow 9 more days!! Looking forward to your update.

A friend of mine is Japanese, and we're all relieved to hear her family near Tokyo is ok.

Japan...well... everyone else has already said it. I'm sorry.

But...nine more days! Very exciting! And, yes, then there will be a whole new trip report with lots more of your absolutely stunning pictures.

Yup all my friends are ok - no one I knew, including some relatives, live in that particular hard hit area. It's great news that your best friend was able to reach her family. It's so tough not knowing!

Hehehe Thanks Tina! I am going to be bringing a smaller camera this year so we'll see how that goes!

Day 6 Part 1: Our last day starts of with Be! Beignet that is….

Today we woke up and it’s bittersweet because it was our last day at WDW. But still we’re excited to fit in a fun day in MK.

We also realized we have some QS credits to use up…so here comes one of the biggest breakfasts on our trip…

Beignets

The Breakfast Bounty Platter

Also not pictured… are our Biscuits and Gravy platter. …I dunno, it kind of doesn’'t look appetizing because the sausage gravy looks kinda like …vomit. But I assure you, it did not taste repulsive, and it was good!

We shared everything as usual and it was a lot of food! We still actually had 2 more QS credits that I thought we would use for lunch but I couldn'’t really think about lunch at that point…

Here’s DH at the bus stop at POFQ wearing the Pluto shirt I got him from the Disney outlet.

And…drum roll…here is the bag that I purchased the night before at the store where we watched Illuminations. I had DH model it for me.

I like the fact that it had an outside flap pocket. It made it a really convenient bag. I didn'’t see this bag at many other stores …so I was glad I found it when I did.

Ah it’s always so magical looking at the castle upon entering Main street!!

We decided to head to Mickey’s Toontown because we barely spent any time there on our last 2 trips. And since they are closing it to expand fantasy land, it would probably be one of our last times seeing Mickey’s house.

Just found and read your trip. Awesome pictures! It looks like y'all had a great time. The hawaii pictures were neat as well. My cousin & I are talking about trying to take a trip there next oct. I'm hoping it works out. Thanks for sharing!

I JUST got caught up on your trip report I was WAYYY behind! (like twenty pages behind haha :lmao:) And I saw that we were at Comic Con the same day for almost the same amount of time! Haha! ;) Small World. I met a girl there who hand made and painted this AMAZING Giselle costume!
