Chunky See, Chunky Do! A June 2025 Family TR!
Featuring Chunkymonkey and Chubbyhubby and a cast of Chunky characters! There were 11 of us in total!
Hello Everyone! Long time no see!
I'm Su-Lynn aka Chunkymonkey - former writer of many Trip Reports here on the DIS. That's my (chubby) hubby Steve on the left. I took a little (long) break from the Disboards after Covid just because I work from home mostly nowadays and after a work day on my computer I figured I should do something rather than sit at my computer writing TRs lol. Also I've taken to Instagram stories to documenting about my travels instead, which is much more my preferred method presently
. But after our crazy trip this past June I was inspired to write another TR! (Also a bunch have you have asked if I was writing one, hahaha).So here goes. Hopefully my TR skills are still intact...now hopefully these picture links work....??
Some of you may have read my first Chunky family TR back in 2017.
My nieces and nephew were really young at the time, my youngest niece Sienna was still a 9-month old baby!

Everyone had fun but the first Disney trip is also the most exhausting and crazy! It was also hot and super humid in August, I think the adults were not prepared to do the trip again until the kids were able to walk without strollers and without having to do multiple rider swaps haha.
Case in point:
Finally after 6 years we did it again in June 2023!
Now the kids were older, were more into rides, and definitely had more of an awareness and appreciation of Disney! Here's a pic from that trip:

It was a great trip but also hot and crazy (but all family trips, are right?). Also I had to do a lot of ride planning each morning with the then Genie+ which is now Multipass and of which I had to learn the ropes in a short amount of time. Sienna was still to short to ride on some rides like RnRC and Tron, so we still had to do rider swap hahaha. Still it was so magical and the kids wanted to come back!
Fast forward to this year - June 2025 and we're taking our 3rd Chunky family trip to Disney World!
Somehow I managed to convince the adults to come to Disney again after only 2 years.
Now Sienna was tall enough to ride ALL the rides, but would she love them? You will have to wait and see!

We split the week-long trip into two parts, active Disney days staying at Coronado Springs, and the relaxing part, staying at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando (while I worked from the room during those "rest" days, which I didn't want to but due to lots of trips planned this year, I gotta save the PTO! Honestly it was fine because I was overexhausted from the first few days in the parks
)We ate some great meals on this trip, and got a ton of pixie dust thrown in! (VIP Tour anyone?)
Hope you're in this for the long run! Like 30k steps a day long!
