Chuck and Lynn Go to Mousefest! New 5/4!

OMGOSH I am sooo jealous of your pink Mickey head pin! I saw those a while ago somewhere online and was keeping my eyes peeled for someone with one. I think I only saw one little boy with the green one and I didn't want to ask to trade with him. Oh well!

I agree about the music on the bus. :goodvibes You can actually get that Mickey Mouse March song on iTunes! Before our trip I found some CD on there by the Disney World band and I bought that one. Then when we were on the MK bus they played it. I knew I had heard it somewhere before! Just in case you wanted to know...;)

Monday is going to be the best. Everyone goes back to school and work and I will be alone. I haven't been alone in weeks! I might just sit and listen to the quiet.

Just the opposite for me - a teacher!
I've had two wonderful weeks off. I haven't heard my name called constantly all day long, heard anyone say "He skipped me!" as we were going out the door, or had anyone sneeze all over their Math paper and then give it to me to correct.
My peacefulness ends where yours begins! :rotfl:

My March countdown to Disney World will keep me going, though.
I hope.

I'm getting resort pins now, also. I started with park pins and a favorite ride from each park. Then, I started with the resorts. I use them as push pins on the bulletin board behind my desk at school. When I put up a newsletter or a schedule of when I have to do something less than fun, at least I'm putting it up with a happy reminder of Pop or Kilimanjaro Safari or Soarin' or whatever pin I happen to be using it. It's a little touch of Disney for the mundane side of my life!

Thanks for sharing the morning at Magic Kingdom. Seems like it was nice and leisurely. I look forward to seeing many more pictures.

That was sweet of Chuck to trade pins! :goodvibes

I love how he has gotten into the light photos for LL!

To be in the MK again must have made you feel a little better, Lynn. :goodvibes

Awww what a lovely reaction when you entered MK, I love your pin, so cute and you didn't use your special FP :faint:

Great update! How nice of Chuck to give the pin to that man. Love that he's taking light pictures too... the obsession is sweeping the nation... or at least the DIS!

You got some great pictures, as you always do! Love the pink Mickey pin!

And, I'm with Jo, you didn't use your priority pass??

Another great update...and I like the pins y'all ended up getting. The pictures of the Castle are great also...I really have to get down there for the Christmas season. I am looking forward to seeing how the trip to GF went and to see the pictures.

Another great update guys! Love the pictures Chuck, especially the one with the castle and poinsettia. The pins are adorable, Lynn! That pin-collecting bug caught on with our family on our trip in September. Had I realized the boys would enjoy it so much, I would have gotten more pins for them to trade before we left! I'm making a mini pin board (inspired by you) for my office, and the boys still have theirs on their lanyards hanging on the bed posts.

P.S. We just got Animal Crossing for our Wii yesterday! I LOVE Animal Crossing on my DS. We'll have to connect some time by Wii! (Did you get Wii Speak too?). I must confess here that actually my youngest bought the game and he's officially "in charge" of the town, but I'll be playing in the evening and "fixing" anything in the town for him. There's an Animal Crossing Community website with forums with lots of helpful hints. Google it for the exact web address. On my DS game, I have a Mickey Mouse flag as my town flag!

She says she is just going to do some house work and rest up.....but we know better! She's going to be jamming out to Rock Band 2!!!!

As far as the pin is concerned...don't be too impressed by me (atleast with that)....back when our Disney store was shutting down, I got several of those small, mickey head flag pins for .25 each and over the years have given quite a few away to friends because somebody (cough: LYNN) won't let me trade them (even though I would like to point out they have Disney stamped on the back of them).

Awww, what great first moments at Magic Kingdom.

I feel so special that everyone is taking pictures of light fixtures for me!!

I love the pink Mickey Pin, so very cute!!

I'm glad you like the pictures! Once you open your eyes to something like that, you really notice them!
I love my pink Mickey head! I'm a sucker for all things pink.

That is a great first moment in MK. I always tear up on Main St. USA!

Thanks! I'm glad I'm not alone.

Thanks for the heads up about iTunes! I got a new MP3 player for Christmas with more memory to fill up!

Sorry you are back to school tomorrow. June is on its way, though. I like your idea for using them as push pins in your bulletin board. I keep mine on display in a bulletin board in my kitchen, but it is getting full. I've got to find more room!!
I started with just the resorts we stayed at and attractions, then ones with Mickey and Minnie together and special events (food and wine, MVMCP,etc.) and now I just trade for ones I love! I had to have the pink Mickey head!
I was so sick that we really took our time and it was a totally differnet trip than usual! Really nice.

That was sweet of Chuck to trade pins! :goodvibes

We try to do nice things for the CMs, even if it just a big smile when we get on a ride. Even in the happiest place on earth, it is still so hard to work with the public!
Being there did wonders for me!

We really didn't need to use the special FP. We did everything we wanted to do!

I'll definitley be using it in my scrapbook! Does that count?

Chuck totally gets into the light thing. You'll see.

You have to go down at Christmas time! It's a totally different feeling!

We would love to have you all visit our city, Rivendel (had to be LOTR or Disney)! Thanks for the heads up on the Animal Crossings forum. We are learning as we go. e don't have Wii Speak.

I'd love to see your pin board. I'm in the process of looking for a bigger bulletin board. (Ebay has added to my collection.) I'm trying to get all the monorails! I haven't put the ones form this trip on the board yet. I've got figure out how to organize them.

Great installment Lynn and Chuck. I too am a lover of liquid cheese. Sometimes it's just a must have. I bet most everything tastes better with liquid cheese.
I love the CM's at WDW. They are the best.

Nice update Lynn! I love the pictures you took of the castle and the pointsettias, very prety and nice angle on it!:lovestruc

I always get teary eyed walking down Main Street, too. It's just so magical and happy and beautiful!! I find I do it more now that I'm a Mom, when I see my boys faces light up and know that we have a WHOLE week to play together it's just wonderful!!!:goodvibes

Love the pins you traded for and love your new Mickey one, too! It matches your VB bag very nicely!!!

Can't wait for the next update!!:surfweb:

It's so happy to read about your good day knowing how worried you were about being able to go. As usual I love all the pictures and details not to mention the cool pins and great stories!

I didn't know about the music on the buses - I have never been on a Disney bus (mostly because staying for years at the CBR I wanted really good control of my transportation) but now I want to ride just to have the experience! After staying at the Poly and seeing how great it is not to get in my car I should try a car free trip.

I didn't even think about Mickey matching Vera! Cool!

I'm getting teary eyed these days just thinking about being on Main Street. I'm ready for another trip!

The buses are part of the experience. One thing I love is being on the bus going to MK in the morning with children who have never been and they spot the castle or Space Mountain or the monorail and getting to see their excitement. Everyone gets to share that feeling.

Of course, there are the occasionally drunk people that fall into your lap or teenagers that decided to cheer their way home at midnight. You can't win them all.

Since I'm waiting for crews to come dig up my front yard, (sewer problems...again) I thought I'd post another update to cheer myself up! hope you enjoy it too!

Day One Part Four

On our way out of the Magic Kingdom, we stopped by the Fire Station. They had the cutest ornament with Mickey police officer on top. I didn’t get it, but I’m planning to in the summer. I hope it will still be there!

At the turnstiles, we saw a CM with a monorail pin and we traded. Unfortunately, when I got home, it was a color I already had!! A tip from me: keep a pin list!!

After a short ride on my favorite mode of WDW transportation (Monorail), we are at the Grand Floridian. It’s even grander at Christmas time! You come in on the second floor and then you can take the elevator or the grand staircase down to the bottom level. Who doesn’t want to take the grand staircase!!

Once you are down on the ground floor, the tree is breathtaking!

DSCF0014.jpg

It is covered with the most wonderful Victorian ornaments like fans, birdcages, little purses.

Light fixture for LL!

Behind the beautiful tree sits the Gingerbread house made out of real gingerbread but big enough to house a real store. (One of my Disney goals is to work there for a season.)

One of the chefs was demonstrating the techniques used to built the house.

Had to try a piece!

The Gingerbread house is covered with hidden Mickeys. See it?

I love the little paintings over the windows. I took this picture for Em.

Taking a minute to enjoy and (drool over the Steinway.)

Back upstairs we took a minute to visit one of my favorite places in all of WDW. One the second floor of GF, there is a balcony which overlooks the lake and beach and over to the Polynesian. It is almost always empty and like a breath of fresh air. I could sit there all day.

I was really hitting the wall (please remember it is my first real day out of bed in a week.) and burning up in the jeans so we decide to head back to CBR and rest. We got off the bus at Port Royal to look in the gift shop for some shorts or capris or I’m not going to make it through the rest of this trip (Later, that’s gonna make you laugh.)

Chuck got some shots of the now empty food court.

I really like how it is the inside made to look like the outside. Of course, this is the last time we saw it because it was so darn far away from the room.

There is also a shop in that area decorated in a pirate Christmas theme. I never really associated pirates with Christmas.

Skull and crossbones ornaments, not something you see every day. (I need one.)

I love these little tropical trees.

In the shop I was able to find one pair of shorts. They were men’s, but I was desperate. (Oh, you are so gonna laugh.) I took them in the dressing room. I heard Chuck talking to someone outside. It sound like Heather (Circusgirl) . I thought about yelling out there, but decided it wouldn’t be the most ladylike thing to do. The shorts, of course, didn’t fit. It was Heather! It was so good to see her again. She had just come over to look around one of her favorite resorts. We discussed our plans and travels so far. I knew we’d be meeting up again. She asked if there had been something special in our room. When we said no, she said, “Hmmm, I’ll have to see about that.” A surprise? I love surprises!!

Hi Lynn!
Can't wait to hear more about the shorts!! And a surprise...yay for surprises!!!! Can't wait to see what it is!!:cool1:

Oh, I had to tellyou that I'm so enjoying your report!! We've had a rough Christmas break due to illness (I'm really hoping that we're done for the year, since I think we've had a little of everything the past two weeks) and am actually "enjoying" an extra day off since the stomach bug didn't hit us until Saturday night. But since most everyone is on the mend and sleeping for the moment, I had a chance to catch up on your report. See, there's a silver lining in everything! ;) Anyway, you've made me smile and forget the piles of laundry that are waiting for me upstairs, so thank you!!!!

I love your pictures. It makes me excited to possibly be staying at CBR in 2010...though I think we're going to spring for the preferred rooms, especially after hearing your story! Can't wait for more! popcorn::

I'm sorry to hear about your illnesses! Here's hoping you're all on the rebound and have put int your quota for the new year!

Learn from my mistakes! Get the prefered room! DisneyJo has pictures of the new pirate rooms on her trip report and they look really cool! With a good room location, CBR will be awesome. I'm excited for you!

This update just made my afternoon. I love seeing you enjoy WDW, you look so happy and peaceful enjoying your happy places. :goodvibes

The tropical Christmas Tree is too cute! And as always, wonderful photos.
