Hello!

Okay, I have my non-chafing Body Glide... :tiptoe:

Is this something that I should keep on my person while I'm walking around all day? Does it need to be reapplied??

GIRLS WITH CHUBBY THIGHS UNITE!!

:cheer2:

Try "Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder-Gel" from the makers of Monistat. This is NOT a feminine yeast infection product. This comes in a purple and navy blue tube with a white flip top. 1.5 oz tube. I read about using this product as a makeup primer of all things, but didn't care for it. I used it on my inner thigh area for my May WDW trip and it really helps with rubbing issues. It is found in most drug stores with the feminine itching supplies.

Body Glide works great. Hubby uses it for his feet--no blisters.

Sorry, I thought you wanted something smaller to take in addition to Body Glide. Hubby uses Body Glide in the morning, and does not reapply on his feet. I didn't need to reapply the Soothing Care product. It is not greasy like the Body Glide.

Thanks for the other idea!! Is it found in the feminine product aisle?

I've learned - bag the shorts and wear capri's!!! Much more comfortable!

Yes. It is typically located with the other Monistat products and "lubricants". It is a great product.

What is this product? When I was younger I used to get chaffed raw on my thighs just from walking in the parks in the heat...it was miserable.

You'll enjoy this story!! Well, I just got married in Disney this June...98 degrees!! I was out there in the middle of the Florida heat at noon...talk about sweating! I drank so much water before the ceremony because I have a problem with passing out and fainting! Luckily, that didn't happen, but I did break out into heat rash all over! It isn't very noticable in the wedding photos...Thank God! You can see it beginning to spread to my chest and shoulders...haha! My Mom noticed me changing colors while saying my vows...haha! I was fine, but after we got back to the Resort...I was in some pain from my skin being irritated. The next morning at 5:00am we had a Magic Kingdom photo session and my inner thighs were killing me from the heat rash! So, luckily...I had brought some biker shorts with me and sure enough...wore them under my wedding dress!! Boy, did that make things better...haha!! :rotfl: So, yup...those fancy MK photos in front of Cinderella's Castle...I'm wearing black biker shorts under that wedding dress! :teeth:

When we went in May, the shorts that I wore on our first day had "trim" on the bottoms of the legs (like piping or whatever) and it actually caused my inner thighs to get these huge welts on them! They were reddish/purple and swollen and my LORD did they hurt! Thankfully on Tuesday it rained and I was able to wear my jeans and boy did that help! For the rest of the week I still wore shorts but NOT ones with that piping and although i was still a little sore, it wasn't as bad as that first day. I am planning to wear capris for the rest of my WDW trips anyway (unless I magically lose some weight) because i've found that I look slimmer in pictures! Woohoo! Double Whammy - no thigh welts and looking skinny! :cool1:

Thanks for sharing everyone! Biking shorts may be a good idea! :thumbsup2 I'm actually planning to wear a lot of skirts (not short ones of course!) so they could come in handy.

Unless I magically lose some weight too... :wizard:

But probably not since we're on FREE DINING!! :rotfl:

 hey, count me in as a chubbythighgirl!!

i have never tried these products, but have heard alot about the body glide working well.

i read in one of my magazines last month about using diaper rash ointment for the inner thighs. they recommended "A&D" i think it was, but i'm sure they are all about the same. i'm going to try it next time.

have a great day!! :goodvibes

I am ALL thighs. I know what you're talking about. Ugh the worst is when your shorts get wet from a ride. I always brought a small thing of baby powder and that would help some. I think I will try some of that new chaffing gel. I am thinking of using deoderant and then the gel on top.

Chubby thighs are my middle name! I've never heard of this product before, but I will certainly look for it. Last year we went to Vegas and my husband, who does not have chubby thighs, ended up with a terrible rash between his thighs. He was really uncomfortable. So I will definitely look for this before our vacation. Thanks!

Body Glide is in sporting goods or sporting goods store. I got mine at Dick's.

hello ChubbyThighs Comrades!
I've been thinking about getting the non-chafing stuff from Monistat but I've also heard that just deoderant can work well as well as prevent short ride up between the legs? The deoderant that goes on like a powder but dries clear?
I know I will need to find something though with all that walking!

Here I was thinking I was the only person in the world to suffer from chafing thighs! So glad to know I'm not alone. :rotfl:

I never thought about trying powder or other stuff like Bodyglide...going to have to check out our new Academy Sports to see if they sell it. If not, feminine product aisle, here I come!

As for the biker shorts...I actually found something similar in the ladies undergarmet aisle at WalMart, they're sort of like the old-fashioned girdles my grandma used to wear, but made like biker shorts. I like 'em because they're a nice peachy flesh tone color (I also have white and black to coodinate with whatever I'm wearing that day). I wear 'em all summer long to work under my skirts because it's too hot here in texas to wear hose, but I chafe too bad to go without. :rotfl2:

Wow, we should start a club! :teeth:

All my life I've hated my chubby thighs, but now that we're all together on this one, I think I can learn to embrace them! I now know that no matter what I do, they're not going anywhere!! Now if only I could learn to love my stretch marks... :rotfl:

Anyway, back on topic... thanks for the tip on the ladies undergarment... I think this is a good idea. I will check next time I'm in Walmart.

A quick story... My brother went to the world back when the castle was pepto pink. His first trip for him and his family. After the second or third day he was having a problem.... He was chaffed...severely...raw...He didn't know how he would make it through another day..To the rental car he went,,, got very lost and finally found an all night grocery store and bought corn starch... old fashioned and cheap.... but his vacation was saved... and his family could enjoy the world again :goodvibes
So when I went on my first trip to the world he said make sure to bring the corn starch and we have ever since....

I have bodyglide but I have only used it on my feet, good to know there's another use. I actually picked up a couple of pairs of men's boxers/sleep shorts that are long enough to cover up the problem area and light enough so I don't pass out.
