Chubby Thighs and PROUD!

OMG! Soooo funny this thread.

And I would like to reiterate that you DO NOT have to be overweight to have chubby thighs that rub together and sweat and chafe and cause hells fire to habitate on your inner thighs.

I am a normal girl size 6-8, have been thin most of my whole life and have always had chubby inner thighs that rub together. Doesn't matter how many consentrated thigh workouts you do. It's a depressing condition that causes most women to HATE their legs, myself and my cousin included.

I just want to thank all the curvy legged women for all their insight and great ideas. It's nice to know that there are sooo many others that have to deal with this curse.

hi all..i too have chubby thighs and couldn't find body glide so i opted for the monistat stuff...works like a charm no chafing stayed all day ....no need to reapply....

:thumbsup2

I am a bit confused by the title of this thread :confused3 Why would anyone be proud of being overweight?

I don't see what there is to be confused about?

Some people who are overweight are comfortable with themselves and their bodies (gosh, imagine that  ) and they don't worry what others think and have to say.

I'm slightly overweight and my boyfriend enjoys every bit of extra cushioning I have. So as long as he loves me and accepts me for who I am and as long as I feel good about myself, then I'm not ashamed of myself one bit. Believe it or not, people who are overweight have other qualities to them other than being overweight.

Hello!

Okay, I have my non-chafing Body Glide... :tiptoe:

Is this something that I should keep on my person while I'm walking around all day? Does it need to be reapplied??

Are you sure that is heat rash and not an allergic reaction to a sunscreen or something??? Heat rash usually occurs on parts of the body where heat and moisture are trapped. Heat rash is due to the skin sweating and not being able to cool anevaporate. If you really do suffer from heat rash, do not apply anything that may trap moisture to the skin....no anti persperants or body glide or anything oil based. Keep yourself as dry and cool as possible and use a cortisone cream (not ointment) to heal the itching/rash after showering.

In the heat always wear light natural fibers (cotton) keep yourself as cool dry and hydrated as possible.

well if you think positive of a challenge it makes it easier that is why she is proud to be overweight.

Just wanted to report that I used regular anti-perspirant on my thighs on our trip at the end of Sept. when it was HOT.
And it worked like a total charm.
No chafing, no hot rash and pain. Nothing, I was so comfy and my shorts never did ride up and I was wearing denim shorts the entire time.
I am so happy that I read this thread before we went!!!
Thanks gals!

I'm a guy with this problem (oddly enough from the sounds of it) and used that Monistat stuff, worked great.

If you think you "might" have a problem bring "body glide" or something similar with you.

I "knew" of body glide and asked my DH( why would I do that?) if I should bring it and he saud No.
Well 2 days in DS9- who does NOT have huge thighs- got into a bad chaffing situation. I developed a small situation myself- :rotfl:
I used desitin for him at night and they petroleum jelly after that and it worked wonders but I wish I avoided the whole thing to begin with!

Every now and again we would see people doing "the walk" - poor them!

Of course in my head I was singing "theres a whole lot of chafffing goin on"

All three members of my family get the "chafing" problem. We spent a week in WDW in August and we all used it every day...

NO PROBLEMS WITH CHAFING --- AT ALL!

that is saying A LOT with OUR thighs. DH has always had large, muscualr thighs and I have recently developed it... :guilty: .

Anyway, use the body glide and carry it so you can reapply it if you "feel" you need it. Feel friction, heat, uncomfortableness --- You all know what I am talking about.

I don't recommend biker shorts as you can still get chafing under those (ask my DD).

oh - and as far as blisters on the feet go --- Use a spray on antipersperant. (SP?) on your feet before you put on your socks/shoes. We didn't have ANY blistering problems.

Great tips! I'm curious, has anyone here tried "Spanx"? They're along the lines of a boy short or biker short, but are considered shapewear and offer a bit more controll?

Thanks.

I have used similar products and have not needed to re-apply. I took it with me in our backpack, but had no need for it. We went in July, so it was hot hot hot.
