I was looking at the Busch Gardens website and noticed their Christmas town thing. Apparently they open in November and December on certain nights from 4-9 p.m. and have all kinds of Christmas themed decorations, food, entertainment. Just wondering if anyone has been and if it's worth it to drive 3 1/2 hours to get to?

Here is the website: http://www.christmastown.com/

It looks like it's $19.95 for one night or $29.95 for weekend admission (Friday, Saturday and Sunday).

This is the first year Busch Gardens will be holding this event. I know I'll be going, but that's mostly because of the lack of things to do in the winter in my area. It's also only an hour drive for me.

For a 7 hr round trip drive it would have to be an all day event for me. 5hrs is not going to get me to drive that far. I'm an hr's drive away myself and we've been talking about going. But we'll see. The weather is usually beautiful here that time of yr. It doesn't snow much and it doesn't really get too cold so it should be great weather. But no, I wouldn't be driving from Raleigh to go. Howl-O-Scream is all day so I'd drive to that.

Virginia Beach has a wonderful Christmas display. You drive down the boardwalk, it and all of the oceanfront hotels are decorated for Christmas. You could do both and would definitely be worth the drive.

I am sending you a PM with some info....

Thought I saw this thread here a while back. Wanted to bump it and ask who went and how you like it, seeing that this is the last night of it.
If you have pictures would love to see them.
We have a few a friend took for us here.
And have news that it will be coming back in 2010, with an all new event in Italy. Its semi-confirmed because of one little sign in the park.

Didn't get to go thanx to the weather and my work schedule. Haven't had a full weekend off since Oct. I do believe that it will be back though. The FB fan ppage was boasting attendance through the roof and the park was closed a few times because it was at Capacity. Would love to go next yr. Would also love to see it extended through new year's day.

We went two weeks ago. We enjoyed ourselves. Only part of the park was open. We all really enjoyed the shows. Sorry I did not take any pictures. The hot chocolate was excellent.

We just returned from two days at Busch Gardens and this event was not running, but I have to say there were a couple of big Christmas trees and a little bit of greenery but not really a big decoration event. The pre New's Year fireworks were very good though.

Where you ar Busch Gardens in FL or VA? VA is usually closed this time of year. This year they started Christmastown.
