After spending three consecutive Christmases at Disney, we decided not to go this year, so I didn't make a reservation. I really should know better, because now the family has decided that it would be nice to spend just a couple days at the Fort, and of course everything is booked. We're looking for the Sunday through Tuesday before Christmas. Is my best bet to call every day and hope someone cancels right before I call? I know that's what I used to do when I forgot to make T'giving reservations, and I always managed to cobble something together. Next time I won't listen to DH and the kids when they decide not to go to WDW.

Call and check online often. It may take up to the last few days to get the days you want. :wizard:

As others have said before, particularly watch for openings/cancellations at the package full-payment-due-date which is somewhere around 45 days before arrival. That's when people with packages have to fish-or-cut-bait. Room only reservations can be cancelled up to about 7 days before arrival. So it might run close to the wire but we've had MANY reports of folks getting the dates they needed because they were PERSISTANT.:worship:
