My dh just became a high school teacher so we now have to follow the school calender:eek: . We are thinking of planning our next trip for Christmas break 2005. Any advice/tips? We'd probably arrive the 26th and leave the 1st. Good idea? Things we MUST do? Things to avoid? Our children will be 5 and 2 at that point. Thanks!

Amy

Holiday time at WDW is awesome, but be prepared. That particular week at WDW is one of the most crowded of the year. Just be prepared for the long lines and you'll be okay.

Other than that, favorite things for that time of year are the Osborne Family specticle of lights at MGM - they even make it snow! And lots of people love the Mickey's very merry Christmas party! There's so much extra that goes on. You'll love the parks all decked out! Just make sure you take time out to give the kids a nap so that you don't have meltdowns from being tired and standing in long lines.

Too bad you can't take a week earlier in DEC., the parks have all this going on with much less crowds.

Best wishes for a great trip:wave:

Thanks for responding. My dh really likes the thought of Disney at Christmas and my parents might join in if we go then. I'm still nervouse though. We've been in September and January when the growds are light. Should we splurge and get the prince and princess add on to dream maker? Being able to reserve playhouse disney alone would make it worth it i think- one less line to stand in.

Sorry, I can't really comment on the prince/princess add-on thing. I'm a DVC member and live not far from WDW so I haven't booked using a package in quite a few yrs -- I used to live up north and used packages before joining DVC but it's been more than 7yrs now.

I'd say anything that helps lessen standing in lines though would be very welcome for that particular week. Also, I'd take advantage of using Past pass and child swap whenever possible. And if you have any "must do's" for meals such as the character breakfast (or dinner) at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary resort or Dinner at Le Cellier at Epcot or anything like that, I'd make your Priority seatings well in advance of your trip as well;)
