Christmas with Express Pass?

Hello everyone, I think we have decided to cancel our WDW Coronado Springs Christmas trip in favor of a Universal trip at Royal Pacific or Hard Rock. Part* of the calculus was with the crowds and what we could reasonably expect to accomplish at each park.... and after a few trips to USF with unlimited Express Pass I think we might have a better ride/wait experience with USF.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Our previous Christmas trips have been WDW and our previous USF trips with Express Pass have been in the summer or spring. Will the Christmas experience be similar to Spring Break?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Both parks are slammed from Christmas Day until just after New Year's Day. Having Express is imperative during that week but it will still mean lengthy waits at restaurants and restrooms. Lines will be 20-30 with Express...some more than others. Staying onsite will save you some time and will allow for early entry on certain days...so that's a good thing.

We too are going to be in Florida at Christmas time (Dec 28-Jan 5) and after being adamant that we wouldn't be going to USO this year, I am now considering it (2 days) but still concerned about the crowds. I wouldn't consider it at all without the EP. We would be staying at Royal Pacific for the EP but concerned if there are still long waits even with the EP. 20 minutes doesn't seem too bad but 30 minutes plus would start to be a bit much. We have been spoiled as we usually go early October or early November. When you mention the lengthy waits at restaurants, do you mean all restaurants or just the table service ones? When during our trip would you think it would be best to go? Closer to the end of our trip or will it not really matter?
