OH NO! I forgot to request a wake up call! We had less than an hour to S,S,S!LOL Can we do it? Oh yes we can, 'cause we're in WDW! And with the help from our friends at Disney Transportation! Names will remain anonymous, just in case! Thanks again, you know who you are! Not you Tyler, even though I was looking for you.
We had our own "Private" bus take us to the Grand Floridian! We were the only two going to MK so the bus took the scenic route!
We head over to the restaurant with our heads turning this way and that admiring the elegance of the Floridian! The restaurant was smaller that I thought it would be. Food was average but did enjoy the mini mickey waffles! Character interation was so-so. I guess we got spoiled the night before!
After breaky, we decide to case out the joint! As we are leaving, I spot her. I gasp! It's Mary Poppins! I become my shoe size and not my age! DD disowned me about this time! Kids! Now have a wonderful picture with Mary Poppins. Made my day!
We scope out the shops, nice selection, and head over to the Monorail. I kindly asked to sit up front as it's my sixth time at WDW and I had never sat in the 'nose' We were in luck, there were people getting off so we could get on! WOW! what a ride. We were allowed to ride all the way around and then get off at MK!
As we enter, I drag DD over to City Hall to find out where to get the Birthday Cake Hat! DD doesn't know what I'm up to yet. We run over to the Emporium only to find out the last hat was sold yesterday! A CM makes a few phone calls but to no avail! The warehouse did not have any in stock and they were not expecting any until April! I explained to DD what I was planning, that the hat that she saw during the Christmas Parade, with the Candles on Top, etc, etc. was what I wanted to get her as her Birthday Crown! But that there were none to be found, well, the look on DD's face was enough to crush another CM's heart and put her into action!
Long Story Short;
CM Dee called her manager, Liza, who in turn, "Pulled a Cake out of Her Hat!" When there was no hat to be found, not even in the warehouse, they found one! Thanks again, Dee and Liza! It truly is a Magical Kingdom!
We do the obliglatory "It's a Small World" and "Haunted Mansion" and then back to the resort to drop off our precious cargo!
It's off to Animal Kingdom to catch the parade! We didn't catch it the last time we were here. It was spectacular!
Then it off to the Contemporary to do Chef Mickey's! We are early so we walk around the resort and check out the shops. Nice!
NOTE: When you are at Chef Mickey's, they take a Group Photo as a souvenir. Luckily I had a small brush to at least make my mop less disheveled! Bought the picture anyways! You get a group picture of all the characters with it!
CM marks down that it's DD's Birthday, she receives a special placemat and they bring her a cupcake with a candle. Food once again was average but atmosphere is great! Goofy even made the "Bunny Ears" behind her head for the picture I took! Too cute!
After dinner, it's off to the Pin Trading Event! It was well put together but they really should do something about the lighting!
Kids have there own trading spot where there is a board set up and they can chose 5 pins to trade off this board. DD also managed to trade with the "Big Boys" for her beloved Stitch pins.
Then it was off to DTD! We had never done DisneyQuest so this was the night! Unfortunately, it was only opened until 11:00 p.m. so DD didn't get much playing time.
Back to the CBR for some few precious ZZZZZZZ's!
