we've never been to disney during christmas break. any advice? are the parks so busy that it is unenjoyable?

This year we'll be at WDW for the week leading up to Christmas. We've mostly been during spring break or June or Thanksgiving before. I expect it will be super crowded. We're planning more hang out and pool time than usual. Now if only the weather will cooperate...

We are going xmas week but know that it will be very crowded. As a result, we will focus less on the major attractions and spend more time doing things outside the parks and enjoy the xmas decorations in WDW.

If your goal is to ride the major attractions as many times as possible, you will be greatly disappointed. ::MickeyMo

We have been at WDW the last 6 years for Christmas. It is VERY busy, but a lot of fun.
The parks are open late and the Christmas sprit is every where. Based on you tag line you have been a frequent visitor to WDW.

There will lots of special things to do and see. Slow down and spend time looking at all the unique things for the holidays.
The resort hotels have some wonderful displays. Make sure you have PS's or you be eating at odd hours or eating counter service.

We are throwing a large expensive party this year and will be skipping our annual Christmas trip. I am already going thru withdrawal . PM me if you have any more ??

I agree with the previous post. Just take your time and enjoy the season. You have to pick and choose and use fastpasses. Everything is decorated so well. We did the Keys to the Kingdom during the holidays and that was a great way to get front of the line and special seating for lunch - plus the tour was so much fun.

We traveled to Fl to see family for Xmas and had a mini stop at the Dolphin last year. We did not go into any parks so I have no basis on crowds there, but the resort was fine....we were there 12/21-24. When we were leaving the 24th the line of traffic heading into WDW was unbelievable, and that was only 1 way in. The cars were bumper to bumper for miles. However...we are returning THIS year to do the parks. Our dates are 12/18-28 using a 7/4 PHP ticket. I am hopeful crowds will be manageable for the first 5 days or so...but then we are pretty sure it will be jammed. Since a lot of schools have hteir Xmas break starting the afternoon of the 17, I am probably wrong and it will be jammed from the get-go...as excited as we are to go, I do have fears of high stress and frustration. I am certainly going to keep telling myself that we knew this was the MOST crowded time to visit...EVER....I think it will all be o.k.,,,,just need to get up early!

Does anyone know when the park starts to clear out after Christmas? Is it any better on Jan 1st and the few days afterward?
