We will be arriving at WDW 12/22/2004 staying for 8 days. We have never been at Christmas before but even as a adult I have always wanted to spend Christmas Day with Mickey :earsboy: Decided to pack up whole family, grandparents and sister and her kids and take them all with me. Turned in all my travel points for free rooms at the WDW Hilton for the 8 days. Having been to WDW 4 times in the past ranging from Sept, to April to middle of the summer. What I was wondering is from some of you past Christmas visitors, is what to expect? How bad are crowds? What is the weather like then? And most of all what are the things that we must see or do during that time? Finally I want to plan something special for Christmas Day for everyone but especially my young son, what is eveyones favorite thing to do or place to go on Christmas Day.

Thanks for you help and i can't wait to go!!!!!

Welcome to the Dis!!!

We went last year from 12/20-29. The first few days the crowds werent too bad, but by Christmas it was extremely crowded. There were times at the MK when we were actually stuck in "traffic" trying to walk. Also, MK(and I think AK, maybe?) closed to offsite guests a few days during that time period.

As for the weather it can vary greatly. The first night of our trip we were waiting for Wishes & Spectro while freezing and wearing winter coats and mittens. There was also 1 day we made it in the pool. In general it was cold/cool most mornings and nights and would warm up to shorts weather during the day.

Definitely do no miss the Cadlelight Processional at Epcot. You can book a dinner package with this to avoid waiting in line. Also, the Christmas Parade at MK was neat, as were the tree lighting ceremonies at both MK & Epcot. Unfortuantely we didnt get to see the Osbourne Lights as they didnt have them last year, but I believe they are back this year.

On Christmas day we went to MK, hit 4 rides(no waits), then had breakfast in the castle. We then left MK and resort hopped for the rest of the day. We also played mini golf. In the evening we went to WL and took a sleigh ride from there.

Enjoy your trip!

As a word of warning, the week between Christmas and New Year's is historically the busiest week of the year at WDW. Plan accordingly!!
