We are booked at AoA for the week of Christmas. What is the weather like? Is it going pool weather?

Typical temperatures average about 72 degrees during the day and upper 50's at night. Plan on day averages of 68 to 74 and nights in the 50's. :cool1:

We have spent 4 of the last 4 Christmas in Orlando at either WDW or Universal. 3 of the 4 trips we had excellent weather. I've seen highs of 88 and we also saw a high of only 38. The weather can be unpredictable, but even during our 2010 trip which was one of the coldest Decembers in Orlando history we saw one day when the temp shot up to 85.

We have been to WDW the last five years the week of Christmas into New Year's. The weather has been all over the place. We have never been too hot and have never used the pools, too cold for us and we are from New England,. We dress in layers. When the sun goes down it does get colder and we always need a (what I call) a light winter coat. Think North Face or similar. Also sometimes gloves. It really is a very personal thing. I have seen people in tank tops and shorts and wonder how they can stand it, but honestly some people are just never cold!! And we are always cold!! LOL!! The best advice I can give it to dress in layers as I already said. A t-shirt might be okay during the day but you will need something at night. We do pack much more for our winter/Christmas trips than for our summer/spring trips.

Enjoy The Magic!!

Where I come from anything over 70 is shorts and pool weather. Not only have we used the pool every time on our 4 trips, but we have also gone to Blizzard Beach. Sorry, I have trouble understanding how 75 wouldn't be pool weather and we usually see some days in the 80's which we consider scorchers! :)

The locals can let you know how variable the weather is in December. Just from our 2 Xmas week trips, one was rainy and cool. The other was sunny and highs in the 70's.

You never know! Hoping for the best for you!

Agreed with how different the temperature can be just in a weeks time. We were there for Christmas and new years a couple years ago. The first three days all our pictures have us in our winter coats. Got down to 27 degrees one night. By the time we left it was shorts and t-shirts with it being 80 degrees.

My best advice...take out a coin and flip it. As most have said you could have 80s or 60s for highs. One thing you can probably bet on is that whatever the high is once the sun goes down it will cool off fairly fast at that time of year.

Mornings and nights can be on the cold side. The contrast from the afternoon gets to you which makes it feel a lot colder. We always layer our clothes in December. We will have hoodies, sweaters and even jackets during the cold time.

The pools are outside and they are heated, but I just feel a chill thinking about getting in and out of a pool during December. It's not for us. If you are going to try this I would certainly go in the afternoon when temps are the highest. If you run into better weather then enjoy the pool, but just be aware it can be cold.

We won't go on water rides, either in December.

Temps can definitely vary. The year my ds was around 13, I told him a half a dozen times to make sure he packed a sweatshirt or light jacket for our December trip (we lived in AL, so the weather was similar to FL). He gave me the usual condescending eyeroll, and assured me he had it under control.

The pics from that trip show ds wearing a pink sweatshirt he borrowed from me one night when it hit the mid-30's during MVMCP...;)

Was there for well over a week (including Christmas) several years ago. Temps, as others have said, will vary. We had warm days (more than warm enough for swimming, managed to swim a few times), cool nights, and two rather chilly nights where I really wanted a jacket.

Pack layers and hope for the best ;).
