I wonder what its like Today If its anything like Last NYE Its gonna be " interesting"

MK closed early - about 10- so there was a huge traffic mess turning people around and then funneling them into one lane by the Hess station to get them out. Many of these people were then trying to get to Epcot which clogged up the roads there. The Studios is also closed. As of 4:30 Epcot is in 'stage 2' ~ when it gets to '3' they close. AK has been in stage 2 all day.
Definitely WAY more crowded than I like it!! and a good day to stay away IMO.

We spent New Years Eve in Epcot this year -- no problems with closings. We drove into Epcot (even though we were staying on Disney property) at 6:30pm and parked pretty close to the front -- they were basically just letting the incoming cars go through the parking lots to find spaces. Epcot was fun with lots of DJ stations and a huge countdown clock on Spaceship Earth.
The only park that was closed was Magic Kingdom (each of the times that I checked) and even that was open to resort guests and annual passholders using Disney transportation. We did not try Magic Kingdom -- as they showed the New Years Fireworks, complete with countdown by the Disney characters, on both December 29th and December 30th.
We had a wonderful time at the parks from December 22nd to December 31st. We used the late, late hours and walked on everything. Best advice I have is -- Use early hours, or late, late hours -- avoid afternoon hours completely.
