Bus transportation to and from the parks must be a nightmare!

Myth - The best bus service I ever had was between Christmas and New Years. Additional buses are added during this time of year.

Unless your POR to AK bus on Christmas Day doesn't check the traffic report, and your 15 minute ride turns into a 60+ minute one

(Driving a car in that wouldn't be fun, either)

Yes, they do run more busses, you even see a few older ones they use as needed.
You also see that WDW brings in a LOT more CM's everywhere in attempt to keep crowds move through the parks, etc.

I wouldn't visit Disney during the period from just before Christmas to New Year's Day, but many people don't seem to mind the crowds.

Overall, I really enjoyed my Christmas trip ...... As a bonus (extra) WDW trip for the year. We got in all the headliners we wanted, but not as many total rides.
I wouldn't reccomend Christmas as a 1st trip. I also hesitate on a WDW vet doing Christmas as an only trip of the year.

I hope this holds for Easter too - I am booking now and I am worried. We use the FP in the past and arrive at RD, so I assume those habits will translate well to FP+.

We just went this past Christmas and New Years and had an amazing time! I would certainly do it again! You just have to plan and not expect to do everything. We go often so we mainly focused on our fast pass attractions and just went with the flow for everything else. It was quite crowded especially on Christmas day and New Years Eve day. I would agree that New Years eve was far busier than Christmas day!

That's so true. Several years ago I did a food review, I would read everything 2 or 3 times before I posted. I re-read my review a few months later and it had mistakes all over it. LOL
